Hotels. Coral Dead or Brown and less fish. The hotel by the sea are very expensive and somebody are just terrible .dirty with insects... Difficult to find Nice quiet place by the. Sea without noisy music.... Too bad . A para dise To preserve quicky from the promoters. The sea is our future!!

i don't venture into nightlife, however, one can't miss the bars, some with blasting music. Overall was impressed with the changes but not impressed with Koh Nang Yuan. It was a big disappointment to me. The white sandy beach is now covered with lots of dead corals. Used to be free of charge and now have to pay for a swim.

It's quite but not so quite during the day time. The water is crystal clear. My favorite beaches are freedom beach and Sairee. If you have time get a taxi boat to Koh Nangyuan for snorkeling is a must!

Koh Tao is very attractive place for diving.

It's seriously beautiful and it doesn't take long to get away from the crowds and find your own little paradise bay . It's been on the backpacker map now for more than 20 years and development is always ongoing but there is still a beach for everyone here, from the "fill my bucket with booze" Sairee type to the peace and quiet of Mango bay. Definitely worth the visit

But this is still busy, with tourists, on motorbikes, screeching up the steep hills, or edging warily down the many rutted and sandy trails along the north end of the island. 4WD taxis and local resort trucks make walking along the main road, up the hillside roads, or even walking in the streets, a dangerous pastime. For such a small place, everybody seems to be going somewhere, all of the time. It is possible to get away from the crowded main centre. Over the top, to HIn Wong Bay is one possibility, although there is no beach, just a beautiful sunrise view. Shark Bay offers the quietest solution, but resort prices are very high. Generally, prices are reasonable, elsewhere, due to the competition, and there are lots of 7/11s dotted around the main resorts. Most of the tourists are young, as the island has a reputation for being a party island. If you are more reserved, you should choose a resort away from the main beach and pier areas and find your way across to the east coast.

Garbage bins are almost not 2 be seen. But the ride there is quite interesting.

So if your a diver then great if not go elsewhere would be my advice

The rest of the island is very beautiful and far less touristy. There are some gorgeous tucked away beaches. Snorkelling is great and there are loads of scuba diving companies. My friend and I went on try dive with Big Blue - they were very careful and professional - a great experience.

The Pier and Sairee beach offer good dining and shopping for beach apparel. It's an amazingly beautiful island which is small and inviting.

I found a store I really liked and spend my time Shopping. It is called Alila and opposite of Chopper´s. They have wonderful Dresses and Accessoires. I would really like to purchase more but have no contact Details. If someone can help me out here, I would appreciate it a lot!

Most of tourists are a bunch of kids that go to Ko Pha Ngan for the party and come to rest and dive in Koh Tao when the party is not on. These kind of people that have no interest what's so ever in Thailand or in Thai culture, they just go there because they can get hammered very cheaply. Bad tourists generate really bad costumer service. I could see staff of hotels and bars being tired of been abused by drunk spoiled brats and consequentially started to become rude to just everyone. It's a shame because the actual location is a paradise. Classic example of how tourism screw up a place.

A couple of places I are at which looke as though they were a bit more traditional , just didn't really want to serve you and was probably the worst service I have had anywhere. They start closing up some of the restaurants at around 9.30 I learnt from another traveller , which means it gets a. Bit uncomfortable if you are still eating. The beach at Kot Tao is nice , the sunsets are beautiful and you can get accommodation right on the beachfront, which is pretty nice.

if your not into diving then there is not a lot for you too do here.
