Find Bungalows in Koun Kham, Laos

"Although this place is a bit difficult to find if you're going on your own (normally I guess they pick people up from one of the bus stations nearby, but we missed our pick up), once you get here you won't want to leave. The location on the river is fantastic. The bungalows on both the river side and the garden side are really clean and well maintained. It is a great place to simply relax and enjoy the scenery for a few days. It also has easy access to the Kong Lor cave, although personally I was disappointed by the cave itself. The WiFi is fast for rural Laos (although you can only connect in the restaurant, not in your personal bungalow). The food is quite good and the staff, especially the female manager is really knowledgable, fluent in English, and goes out of her way to make sure you are happy. She arranged for us to stay in the riverside bungalows at a reduced rate because we missed our first night due to a very slow bus that left late from Savannakhet. Motorbikes are provided at no cost, as well as boats to explore the river on your own. Only complaint: the mattress in our bungalow was very uncomfortable with many lumps, making a good nights sleep very difficult. Also, the hot water heater only produces luke warm water. But this is understandable given how in the middle of nowhere you are. Would stay again."
