Mature well travelled couple and although the area is stunningly beautiful were disappointed at how touristy and expensive LP was.

You should be relax and dont rush your times in Luang Prabang, this is really a relax place to cool you down.

Luang Prabang is such a tourist trap. Everything is so expansive compare to Vientiane. Everything is designed to get money from tourists, including the temples, restaurants, cafes, bridges.

Extremely small but cute and attractive old city of the world heritage. We can reach everywhere by walk within 10-20 min.

Friends had already recommended Luang Prabang and I was not disappointed. After the hustle-bustle of cities and the tourist highway of for instance, Siem Reap Luang Prabang is QUIET.

It is a great place to visit, in the city for its UNESCO World Heritage sites and outside the city for outdoor activities (Kuangsi Waterfall, Elephant Camp, Butterfly Park, slow boat ride, Pak Ou Cave Buddhist shrine, etc.

Luang Prabang is perhaps one of the most beautiful places on this planet. An almost hidden oasis which is simply enchanting.

It's a UNESCO city, recommend the early morning alms activity. Try local foods, local lifestyle, it's an active city.

It is a place where you can be slow life, enjoy the way local people do, try the local food, visit so many temple around Luang Prabang.

This is a Unesco Heritage site so the town is just lovely. It is the Carmel of Laos. We loved seeing the monks early in the morning, the wats and the highlight was going to an elephant refuge to feed and bath the elephants.

Luang Prabang has a lot to offer to any traveler: Mekong river front, restaurants, spas, waterfalls, elephant's ride.

Very unique venue to visit and "stay-awhile". Walk away from the main "touristy" area over the "old bridge" and observe what conditions were really like before the heritage designation.

Nice looking town which leaves you with creepy impression because of how they run things in strange ways.

How long you should stay in Luang Prabang is all about personal taste. I have been her many times and sometimes a month.

We were able to organise trips, travel and activities very easily. We had a great time trekking, on a slow boat up the Mekong, many many restaurants serving delicious food, especially local Laos cuisine.

It's such a peaceful place surrounded by mountains. It's safe and people are genuinely kind and friendly.

Luang Prabang is a very well developed tourist destination based on the world heritage listed old town, the protection means it has not been spoiled by over development and it still retains a nice small town feel.

Firstly, as a solo female traveller, I felt pretty safe in Luang Prabang. I enjoyed my night strolls and even walking from the city all the way to the airport.

Beautiful city but a lot of trash especiallynear the river, i think the townhall needs to take good care of the city and keep it clean, but unfornately we saw a lot of trash in every town or city in Laos.

There is a lot to see in and around Luang Prabang. I stayed at an elephant sanctuary about 30 minutes from the Town Center and loved every minute of it.

We made this a base for a multiday bike trip. After we returned did a day trip to see the Buddha caves then visited the Kuangsi Waterfalls which was really wonderful --several Multics tiered waterfalls and nice swimming area.

Just walk and enjoy al the nature and oud buildings, clean streets, see the beautifull tempels, sit at the mekong Riverside and enjoy daylife on the Mekong and see the sunset.

Luang Prabang is such a delightful little town! We were pleasantly surprised at every turn! The French colonial style mixed with the Buddhist influence, and the natural jungle/river/mountain scenery makes for such a relaxing, lovely place! We only stayed 2 days, but would love to go back! Everything was just so darn cute and pleasant!
