Lots of sites to see in the city and the general area. It is an inexpensive place to take a holiday, it wasn't very busy when we were there.

Most restaurants that hostels recommend serve international food, and therefore cost more than other stalls that serves just local food, but they usually look cleaner.

Compare to Jakarta it is a real pleasure to stay in Yogyakarta. More clean, less polluted, more affordable and nice people! :)

We don't care much for the city center which is too crowded. But other attractions outside of Yogyakarta (for us during this trip, Borobudur and Mt Merapi) are highly recommended.

Do Prambanan before Borobudur, and try not to compare the two. They're both beautiful and full of history, but in very different ways.

The city is nice but the traffic are bit crowd. There so many careless motorbike user, you must be patient on their behavior.

Visiting Candi Borobudur and Candi Prambanan are the two only reasons why I need to stay in Yogyakarta.

Yogyakarta is a very pleasant city. Quite large but with the feel of a collection of villages. It is safe but for the tourist touts (Easy to get rid of) Plenty of attractions around (sea, mountains, volcanoes, monuments, batik, dancing.

Love the night life especially when I come to weekend night could view many teenagers hang out by the roadside with the activities.

Vibrant and interesting place. So much culture and architecture to take in, in the surrounding area. Lots of lovely hotels to stay in.

You need to stay for long to know about the city of Yogyakarta, it's not about the tourism but how you could blend with the locals and see how the daily life going.

Yogyakarta is magical place beside Bali you can find a lot of interesting place in here, and Yogyakarta has a lot of beaches, you can learn history, how to make batik, the food great, and you can go to religious place also such as BOROBUDUR temple and SINDANGSONO church.

not much to visit but can go there for 2days and can enjoy market near to railway station and 2 hindu temples which are 50-60kms far from city centrl
