Where to stay in Kaohsiung
Kaohsiung hotels & accommodations

Amazing service that I got from the hotel staff. First time in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, and with language barrier, we were struggling on the first day. After getting assistance from the hotel staff who speak English fluently, my family had great time there.

This is our second time staying at Kindness Hotel in Kaohsiung. We picked this particular hotel for its proximity to the train station/MRT. Check-in and out was a breeze. We had booked two double rooms and were given 2 triple rooms. We appreciated the extra space. Rooms were spotless. The hotel is walking distance to a night market nearby. And supper is now...

I have always stayed at Dua if I am visiting Kaohsiung. Hotel Dua has been my favourite hotel in Kaohsiung. Good room size, clean, great/helpful staff and the breakfast was okay. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone if travelling to Kaohsiung.

A typical 5-star hotel with luxury renovation and friendly staff. Hotel room with balcony having an excellent view. There is a large indoor car park and it is free for hotel guest. Location of the hotel is a little bit far from Kaohsiung downtown. There is a huge shopping mall next to the hotel. Just need to take 3 minutes walk to Zone C of the shopping mall and y...

The place is located approximately 5-7mins away from Liouhe Night Market and Formosa Boulevard Station Exit 8, hence making a great location if you want to go to all the attractions in Kaohsiung. Hotel comes with free breakfast and afternoon tea and even though the selection is not a lot, the food was really nice. Room is big and clean and comes with great toiletrie...

This hotel is really value for money ie S$520 for 3 pax stay for 3 nights. The breakfast has a wide variety of choices. They also provide complimentary tickets to the ferris wheel. There is also shuttle service to the outlet mall. One improvement is that the signage is not clear in terms of specifying the pickup location at the mall ie we almost wanted to cross the r...

Very close to houyi mrt station. When you have arrived Kaohsiung train station, just take the mrt to houyi mrt station, it's only one station away. Very convenient. The location of this hotel is 100m away from houyi. We booked two nights in Kaohsiung. However, due to the sudden change of our itinerary, both of us decided to forfeit the second night. The staff was kind ...

Pros: location was great since it was just walking distance from the MRT, Green LRT,shopping malls and the Kaohsiung Exhibition Convention Center. Sliced fruits were offered free daily (except Saturdays), the receptionist were kind and courteous. The rooms were spacious and neat. Toiletriesw ere provided, and warm shower was available in the room. Cons: no free sluced ...

We were not sure what to expect with the Grand Hi-Lai Hotel. Taiwan is filled with mediocre hotels that do not live up their price or prestige. We stayed in a Superior room with a view of the city and was pleased. Nothing about the hotel will blow one away. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and spacious. The bathrooms were clean, comfortable, and solid. Nothing was par...

Stayed at Greet Inn after exploring other highly rated hotels in Kaohsiung. Glad we booked with Greet Inn. It's a newer hotel and very well decorated and furnished. It's close to a 7-11 and Family Mart for drinks and snacks. It's about 20 mins walking to Liuhe Nightmarket and 10 mins to the nearest MRT station. For the price of the hotel and the amenities, this hotel w...

One of the best hotel in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. We were staying for 6 nights on 70th floor which is the highest floor of this hotel with magnificent harbor and city view both day and night. Rooms are spacious and clean with big bathroom, separate shower and bathtub. Excellent daily maid services, keep our rooms clean and tidy everyday. Thanks for the fruits plate and new ...

Love the hotel's minimalist decor. Hotel is located less than 3-min walk from Exit 2 of Kaohsiung Arena MRT station (R14 and hence, probably why hotel's English name is as such) & short walk to RuiFeng Night Market. There's also a Hanshin Arena Shopping Mall beside and not to mention, Kaohsiung Arena which is a common venue for concert in Kaohsiung. Laundromat is a b...

The hotel basically met all my expectations on what a 4-Star Hotel should be. The room was superbly comfortable and clean, the furnishings are great, and the service is very, very good. The buffet breakfast is also very enjoyable, featuring international and local Taiwanese dishes. In terms of attractions, the Pier-2 attraction (駁二區) is located just opposite the hote...

chateau de chine hotel kaohsiung is one of the newly renovated hotels in kaohsiung. this means that the rooms are modern and well equipped for business visitors. i find it very convenient and easy to access to its wifi internet connection. it is very fast and always stays connected even if you leave your desk for a long while. the room i stayed was very clean, and ...

The location is very convenient, closely located to an MRT station, though after a long day of work arriving only in Kaohsiung at 7:30pm, we opted for the taxi from the HSR. It was about a 15-20 min taxi ride costing ~$230NT (this was due to Friday evening traffic. Our return trip back to the HSR was only $200NT with no traffic and speeding). Although it is located nex...

The Howard Plaza is centrally located with a great view of the city to the north and south. It's a quiet hotel in a relatively quiet part of town. There are plenty of restaurants (e.g., Chinese, Tex-Mex, Thai, Vietnamese) that are all within walking distance. One of the main reasons we chose this place was it was one of the few with a pool that is open year-round. Many...

Location of hotel was conveniently located near Yanchengpu MRT. Hotel does provide clear pictorial guide to get to hotel. We were really impressed with the artistic designs of the hotel, especially the corridor and the interior design of the room. They are unique and creative due to being near Pier 2 Art Center. Breakfast buffet had a wide variety of food with a grea...

I booked this hotel mainly for its vicinity to my bridal shop in Kaohsiung, but it happened to be a wonderful stay for my husband and I. Like what other reviewers had mentioned, they provide free shuttle service to and fro Kaohsiung Main Station until 11 pm. You may call them from station and they are ever ready to pick you up! Breakfast is one major factor why my husb...

After stayed at Bali H2O this hotel in Kaohsiung really meet my expectation, despite the good facilities such as the roof top swimming pool, gym & executive lounge at 19th floor, the Hong Kong dim sum at second floor is delicious too. The only con of this hotel is the location of the hotel is not located in the city centre, and it doesn't have any MRT station near by, ...

Excellent location (next to Kaohsiung Station just 1 minute walk),in the middle of the Kaohsiung city( i think), 20-minutes away from the Kaohsiung Airport by MRT. Room is clean and relative large (can fully open 29" baggage without blocking). Bed is large (Double bed room) No bathtub, just enterprise but i like it( maybe only my room type is enterprise). Shampoo, show...

This is definitely the best hotel in Kaohsiung I have ever been, with about US$55 per night, you can enjoy a nice and clean room, with a spa shower, complimentary tea, ice cream, pop corn 24 hours a day! You can even have free laundry and bike rental service! Hotel is located a few mins from the biggest night market in Kaohsiung, but since it's located not at the main ...

M Hotel is very near the KMRT City Council (市議會) and the Formosa Boulevard (美麗島) stations. If you arrive at Formosa Boulevard or Kaohsiung Main Station, the hotel would be pleased to pick you up to the hotel for free. Let the hotel know at least 3 hours before your arrival. For us, the CHAIRMAN of the hotel came to pick us!!! It made our day especially the weather was ...

It was our first time in Kaohsiung - a vibrant city filled with culture, history and art. KaohSiung Pier2 Hotel was located near Bo-Ai district, in which you can explore many places to inspire the artist in you. If you are a foodie, rest assured that you will have access to plenty of food near this area. If you are a couple, the love river is just in the vicinity - ...

Great budget hotel in the area and we love the bathtub in the room and the breakfast! The station, while relatively near, was a bit far and tiring for my mother and especially after a long day's worth of walking. Still, we would go back if we're looking for a place to stay in the area.

Didn't expect to find such high standard Hotel in Kaohsiung. Good location, very friendly and helpful staffs. Room standard is comparable to Hilton, all the details and item used in the room. From furniture to lighting, bathroom accessories to the bed. Is definitely value for money, enjoy my stay very much, thank you.

We stayed here for a nostalgia trip because we use to live and work in Kaohsiung. There are good lake views and the beds are comfortable. It's a 30 min taxi ride into town in rush hour which may account for the hotel's decline in popularity. Don't go to Kaohsiung for a holiday !
Cheap places to stay in Kaohsiung

The place was a bit old but it was really clean!! The bed was so comfy and the air-conditioner works perfectly fine (cool and nice in the room) The staffs were so friendly and let me to stored my luggage before the check-in time :) And the location was so closed to Kaohsiung train station which gives this good place another extra points :) 7-11 is located beside th...

I booked here because it was the cheapest hotel in Kaohsiung with a double bed and en-suite bathroom. For the money, I would say it was very good value. The hotel itself is a bit dated, but the rooms are the decent size, clean and the bed is comfy. I had a flat screen TV with cable TV and the Wi-Fi worked just fine. Bathroom shower was fine. The hotel is about a 5 min...

Abby and I planned a trip to Taiwan but we both agreed to visit Kaohsiung first. Yes, we're both new to see Taiwan. At first, we expected that Kaohsiung is big and difficult to travel around. However, we made a mistake. Kaohsiung is not so big and it was very easy to travel around. Moreover, we stayed in this place called Backpackers Inn. I booked it because I saw that...

It was a really great stay. All the facilities are superb! The peoples are wonderful, the boss are passionate and they are at a best location. Although there wasnt special breakfast and the staffs are not that enthusiastic but we really had a great time with the boss. She is an amazing woman. She was enthusiastic and introduced us excellent trip and services which we r...

I stayed there with 2 of my friends. The place is very clean and large. Shower room and toilet is very clean. No complain. The adapter plug at your bed is universal, so don't worry about the adapter type. There is a living room for you to hang around if you aren't heading to bed early. And a computer with quick internet access for you to use. Fridge is full of drin...

The Taichung one operates better than Kaohsiung since they have elevator. Their Taichung is the best one i stayed bfor for Backpacker 41. Oh ya, its cheaper to book through their own website and pay upon arrival yea~ +good location (near no MRT and shopping mall) -no elevator and room is located at 4th floor (luggage was disaster)

This hostel was tied for the cheapest hostel in Kaohsiung, 11USD per night! However, it did not have one single review. I said "I'm going to stay there so I can review it for the next backpacker looking for cheap accommodation!" It is conveniently located at the Formosa Boulevard stop on the MRT. Take Exit 2 and you'll find yourself on the correct side of the road to g...

Booked a 3 night stay and had a very pleasant experience there. Everything from the room, (bedsheets and bathroom is clean and maintained) to the location (barely a minute walk from the nearest exit) and price is very good. It also provides several amenities (soap, shampoo and hairdryer). Other thing is it provides a pleasant breakfast and night snacks while the other ...

We received free room upgrades from owner and our new 4-bed private room is lovely! Location is 2 minute walk away from kaohsiung station. Although the hostel is full during our visit due to Mayday's concert, the cleanliness was maintained well by owner. Indeed value for money.

Certainly the cleanest and most well hostel I've stayed in Taiwan. Business run by Japanese; the facilities, living room, kitchen and bathroom was so spacious in Japanese-style with well & nice maintained. Cozy environment, clean and neat with many Japanese guests, and able to get to know new friends from other countries. This location is convenient with major subway ...

All of the Staff are so hospitable ,most especially the hotel receptionists. The room is nice and clean .There is free sauna room, hot bath area , very nice dining and lounge area.Definitely , I'll stay here again when I'll travel in Kaohsiung, Taiwan in the near future. It's worth the pay and I could not ask for more.I highly recommend it for solo travelers...

There are four hotels in Taiwan I had lived. And that's one of the ones I like so much. Close to the station and main road. And the lobby is just like a home hall what made me feel good and relax. In addition, the local cleanliness great and facilities are fairly new. Next time to Kaohsiung should choose this again for me. ha

Knock knock hostel is well located 1 minute from the rapid transit station, and also about 10 minutes walk from Kaohsiung main station. Shoes are left in the cupboard by the door so the place is kept very clean. I was staying in a 6-bed dorm and each bed had privacy curtains, light, plug adaptor and individual lockers. The communal shower/toilets were just outside t...

I stayed overnight at Long Siang Hotel. I booked my stay here because of the excellent reviews from Agoda. I agree with the past reviews. First of all, it is value for money considering the room size and location. The room was quite big for one person and it was walking distance from Kaohsiung Arena. There were also a couple of 7-11 stores and restaurants nearby. T...

We book a double room on the 5th floor (topmost floor) for a night. The room is big and cozy, nice bed to sleep with private bathroom. Our room located next to public living room and public balcony where you can wash your clothes without any charge. From guesthouse, you can walk around and it's not far from station. Even you walk back on the night it's ok because you'l...

This hotel is underrated. It doesn't have as many amenities as some others such as the Ambassador, but the room is perfect and the staff is great...VERY clean and VERY comfortable. They don't speak much English, but enough. If you don't care about having a river/harbor view, La Ping will beat any other more highly starred hotel in Kaohsiung. We will be staying at this ...

Definitely staying here again next time I visit Kaohsiung. Location is excellent, very nearby to the MRT station, close to bus stations with easy access to one of the biggest shopping complexes in Kaohsiung. Few stops away from the main train station so can easily take day trips outside of Kaohsiung. Staff was very nice and helpfull. The "room" was quite cozy and su...

It was the first time for me to make a visit to Kaohsiung and I was little nervous by reading some reviews about this hotel beforehand as it said staff members wouldn't speak English and I couldn't speak Chinese at all. However, they were friendly and tried helping me whenever I asked them questions in English, although their English was not perfect but we could commun...

The hotel is one of the best I've been to! Worth the money and the staff is very friendly and nice. Too nice they let me stay at the common area. My apologies for overstaying! 😭 Thank you very much again and more power to Start Hotel! Truly recommended!

The hotel is new and clean, with bath tub, separate shower, sofa in the quad room with nice deco. It is very close to night market and few breakfast eateries. We can access washing machines and dryers at 11th floor (free of charge). Very good price for Quad room, and definitely one of our best day in our 12-day Taiwan trip. I highly recommend this hotel.

Liuhe Su Hotel is a value-for-money hotel and is conveniently located to a Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) system - Formosa Boulevard - in Kaohsiung. It is just 5-min walking distance to the MRT system. Liuhe Night Market is just downstairs of the building. We had a room with two Queen sized beds to accommodate 2 adults and a 9-year-old child. The room was very clean and...

We were a group of 3 travellers who stayed only one night in Kaohsiung and were quite impressed by the quality of stay in this hotel. First, the staff was very friendly and helped us with lots of information on how to “maneuver” our short stay in Kaohsiung. Second, the hotel provided breakfast was of high standard and had lots of varieties from Asian style breakfast t...

I stayed in two different hotels in Kaohsiung and have to say i regret not booking Just Sleep for all my nights there. The room was HUGE, bed was comfortable, and even the toilet was bigger than usual. Overall it is just very modern, spacious, and very, very clean. Oh, and the tea and coffee that they provided as part of the mini bar was of great quality (not your typi...

First, I need to recommend all of you to book this hotel if you are traveling with your partner. Because they are a new hotel in Kaohsiung with modern design, 24 hours lounge and refreshment provide. Second, all the staffs with smile face nice service and very helpful. As me and my boyfriend will have a lately flight at night, so we will go out in the morning and a...

In general, it is a good hotel to stay in Kaohsiung. Its convenient location makes it one of the best hotel choices in Kaohsiung, especially for business travellers. However, there are two points that I would like to raise: 1. The Wi-fi connection in my hotel rooms (at the end of the corridor) was not stable. 2. The area outside the hotel is rather quiet (especially q...

My stay with Harbour 10 hotel has been awesome, they have friendly staffs and great facilities. They even organized a Complimentary Welcome Tea session at the cafeteria. The view from the hotel is impressive as the hotel is located directly opposite a part of the Love River which is a nice place to chill in the evening. Although the nearest train station is not very ne...

Of the 2 weeks visit the southern part of Taiwan, I have to said that this is one of the hotel that impressed me the most, with its highly privatized hotel guest rooms and the sea views that it provide is not one that can be found from the mainland Taiwan or any other city areas. Promotions was ongoing for this relatively new hotel with its affordable rate at the momen...

If you do not like to walk and looking for the complete facilities, this property fit you. Arrive at the airport, exit via MRT exit 1. Take bus from Kaohsiung Park to Jinfu Road. Continue to walk to the front and The hotel just there. Their restaurant is quite fancy but not to much choices to eat. They also have luggage weight scales and coin washing macchine. The room...

Our room was nicer-sized and the bed more comfortable than the other 3 hotels we stayed at in Taiwan on this trip. The hotel is not in the main traffic area, so some walking or taxi rides were neccessary. But the quietness of the out-of-the-way location and the beach/sunset view made it worthwhile. Breakfast was simple and good, though not a buffet. There is no exer...

stay at oh ya boutique motel kaohsiung for one night with family. lobby is spacious and well decorated. checking was smooth and motel staff was polite and sincere. the room is spacious. free bottled water, coffee, tea and safety box is available, we enjoy the ktv facility in the room. it's a nice place for both couples and family.

We drove from Kaohsiung Eda theme park and stayed in this hotel before heading for another city. The hotel is nicely situated, 5-10 minutes from the highway. The small room we stayed in is clean but had a smoke smell and unfortunately, we did not complain with the hotel so that they can move us to another room. The staff are all friendly, especially the ones in the r...

Booked the place for my fiance’s birthday. Fantastic service from the staff. They were extremely helpful and accommodating to my requests! The gentleman ferrying us to the 7-11 nearby is great. Staff helped with my 12am surprise cake and wine. This place is added to my yearly vacay list! Great, great, great. Fantastic huge pool and nice hotspring water tub. We got...

Nice enough hotel, though you might expect a bit more at the price we paid (130eur/night). Location is not super convenient, no MRT nearby though there's a bus stop next door with an infrequent bus that goes to the MRT station. Room was clean and spacious, beds were very comfortable and we had a nice view out of the window. Bathroom was good otherwise, except the wat...

This hotel is under new management and renovation a few months ago. They require some update as they were probably an old gem 40 years ago. Friendly staff and big dining hall for breakfast. They offer traditional Taiwanese breakfast which may not be all suitable for western travelers. I would go back and stay in future visits to Kaohsiung.

the laundry facilities were great. you can buy laundry detergent from the front desk. the breakfast was scrumptious and very filling. it was a mix of western and eastern food. the roon was small but clean. view was nice. the gym has treadmills and ping pong table. the only bad part is that the location is a bit of a walk to the closest.station. it is about a 100ntd tax...

One of the best thing is it’s one of the most updated, most cleanest hotel. The room is spacious, comfortable and all the amenities and bed is fresh and new (for now). However, everything comes with a price, which the cost of per night per stay is high. Compared to other 5 stars hotel, this one is probably one of the best in Kaohsiung and other ones are very dated and ...

Location: it is conveniently located just next to the Central Park MRT station exit 2. Travel in Kaohsiung is pretty convenient by MRT. Also, it is located within walking distance to the famous Liuhe Night Market and the Xin Jue Jiang Business District (you can find the famous Angel chicken chop there). Room: A reminiscence of my old HDB flat with the mosaic floor ti...

ive stayed at this hotel more than 3 times. i guarantee that this hotel is the best cost/performance hotel in Kaohsiung. Luxury feeling hotel interior and exterior, fantastic welcoming by excellent staff and romantic spectacular view from the top floor located bar. this is the must stay hotel in Kaohsiung.

The location and communication with the host is good. One thing is that when we placed the order, it was shown that there are four bedrooms. However, the apartment given to us only consisted of three bedrooms. Despite the number of beds are sufficient, the number of rooms was not the same as stated. The quality of mattress was not good too.

Kaohsiung is not small city, have KMRT and city bus to all Taiwan. This is portland city but it quietly, slowlife city.
Rather boring place. Only worthwhile attraction would be Cijin Island and maybe the chill-out at The British Consulate.
Very nice city, many attractive place can go by Metro, or take daily tour to outside around the city, also Kaoshiung people are very friendly and polite.
Kaohsiung is a rather under-rated tourist attraction and often pales in comparison to other destinations in Southern Taiwan such as Tainan and Kenting.
This is the second largest city in Taiwan, after Taipei. As a city, it has a many things you can expect, such as: 1.
Shopping - Dream Mall & Hankyu at R6 MRT stop where free bus shuttle is available - Hanshin Arena Shopping which could be followed by visit to Rueifong night market Night Markets - Don't miss Liouhe where plenty of seafood is available
It is a mdium size city and with sufficient size for various activities within reach by MTR, bus or on foot.
You will be so relax in such a nice place. People are not hurry and you can enjoy good food with a reasonable price.
One disappointing thing about Kaohsiung is there is very little information in English which makes getting to attractions very difficult if you need to get off the train then onto a bus.
It's a lot easier to navigate that Taipei as they only have 2 MRT lines. There were some touts insisting you go to Kenting at the Zuoying High Speed Rail Station so try to avoid spending too much time within that station.
I've been to Kaohsiung twice to catch up with my friend. I always find the city so laid back and relaxing.
nothing much at Kaohsiung city just shopping mall & night market. Have to go to sizihwan, fisherman wharf, love river, kenting beach.
A seaside city with the largetst port in Taiwan. The city didn't have many skyscrapers but good sea and port view from the hill.
Kaohsiung is a safe city where one can travel on his/her own. With the metro, one can reach the various places of interests easily.

Koahsiung has so much to offer. It has all the usual city attractions like department stores, restaurants, museums etc, and also lots of options for nature enthusiast to enjoy, like the beach, the mountains and the lakes.
After spending 3 nights in Taipei, I found Kaohsiung very relaxing. It was rely nice to walk along riverside, sit down have something to bite and drink.
Good place to stay in with its history and scenic attractions. Further trip to the surrounding areas and neighbour cities is recommended.
local people are very kind, welcome a lot of quality food choices you would like to know more about their culture you will like this place, quite, clean, nice weather but not convience to get money exchange, not at all
Tips: - Buy yourself a one-day or two-day pass for MRT. - Going to Zuoying and Qiaotou by train is cheaper than MRT, but mind the frequency of local train.
Our flight arriving at Kaohsiung International Airport hence we decided to take a night stay over at Kaohsiung.
Nice city, I love it, the people in Kaosiung are much nicer than people in the North. They love to help.
people here are nice to tourists and they are always willing to tell you what to eat and places worth to pay a visit.
A place where you can visit for the night markets! In the morning, not much stuff to do actually. But the night markets here are really good!
If taking a direct flight into Kaohsiung, best to travel by train to Tainan for a day tour. Followed by train down to the south and stay at Kenting.
