Langkawi hotels & places to stay

It is the first time for me and my family members to visit Langkawi. I chose the place personally due to short travel duration as a consideration to my 3 yr old son. I’ve searched so many resorts and Ombak Villa Langkawi has been in my Top 3 list and finally selected it as the place looks peaceful and relaxing with a nice view of garden and the sea..and I was right. Being a nature lover, I always wanted to see greeneries around as much as possible. It has a good view of the sea, nice & windy on the seashore in the afternoon which is best to fly kite. My son enjoyed it so much. Rooms were clean (but maybe would be good to get the headboards cleaned as well as it has that sweaty smell) but overall, the rooms were 8/10...very spacious. We had an early check-in (an hour before) which we really appreciated. Buffet breakfast is just OK.. enough variety to choose from (I like the juices personally). The staffs were very kind and I’d like to give kuddos for having honest staffs as I left my iphone on one of the tables in the reception and was so glad that they kept it and I was able to collect after our day tour. Ombak Villa is close to other 2 resorts...and we had the chance to stroll in the morning around Lagoon Langkawi Resort. Overall, I am very pleased to have stayed here and would highly recommend it to friends. Staffs are really nice as well.

You sure can't beat the views here. Each morning my two small children and I wake to the clouds touching the sea. It's calm and quite, removed from the hustle and bustle of Cenang, just a five minute drive down the road. The rooms and neat and tidy and very comfortable for our two week stay. The facilities are all you could hope for as well. A great pool, especially for the kids, dining room by the sea for breakfast and even a gym, including a running machine outside that looks out to the sea (my boys have had me running on that every day). There's no actual beach by the hotel, but with Cenang beach five minutes away you don't really need one. The food is comparable to anything else we've had in Langkawi and reasonably priced. The staff are friendly and helpful. You are a little removed from town, which is an advantage in one sense as it's very peaceful but you will need transport to get anywhere. The hotel runs a shuttle bus 3-4 times daily and you can get taxi's of course, but I would recommend a hire car to really get the maximum benefit of the resort and island - we picked up a little banger from the airport for 50 RM a day so not a great expense. Like almost all hotels in Langkawi it would seem the resort could do with a touch of paint here and there and seems to take them all day to remove plates etc left outside your room, but these are only small complaints. Having seen a fair bit of Langkawi and the other options available, in terms of location and value for money you will be hard pressed to do better. Book it!

I have to say, I would never have booked this hotel based on its rating. However we were forced to stay at this hotel due to cancelation of the other hotel we booked and it turned out to be one of the best value for money place we have evwe stayed!!!! The pool is awesome! My kids can play in it for the whole day. The staff are very friendly and the food is very reasonably priced and delicious! Price is really reasonable here. The only down side of the place is its room size and its interior. It is one of the older hotels in langkawi. So don't expect a modern and newly renovated room! Will definately stay here again!

Our stay at the Bayview was great. The staff were courtesy, friendly and helpful, the location for our needs was perfect and the room was just what we needed after 3 months on a Thai tropical island in small a 2 star room. The hotel is a quick 10 Ringet taxi ride from the Kauh ferry terminal, and is walking distance to lots of duty free stores and local market restaurants. It is not a beach resort, but has a good swimming pool. The buffet breakfast had lots of Asian and Indian dishes, but still catered for western tastes with cerals, fruits, omelette, toast and coffee. The view from our 9th floor room was great and we felt relaxed by the pool, supplied with towels and deck chairs. We would definitely stay there again if we needed a hotel in Langkawi. My family and i loved this hotel so much. I especially fell in love with the kitchen on the balcony concept and the view it provided. I highly recommend the seaview room. It was worth the extra charge. Waking up to a beautiful view of the sea and sailing boats just makes for a great morning start. The swimming pool was cozy and spacious, both the adult's infinity pool and the kids pool. The fact that the pool is open from 7am to 9pm means you can still have a dip in the pool after a long day out island hoping. We stayed in the studio apartment with one king sized bed and one queen sized sofabed as i was informed only the 'studio' units have kitchen balconies. The apartments do not have a microwave, instead they give you a kettle, some plates, bowls, mugs and cutlery and a TOASTER OVEN. do not put plastic in the oven. it is not a microwave. But it is useful to reheat those roti canai or grilled fish or nasi lemak wrapped in banana leaf (buy the nasi lemak in the afternoons in one of the humble stalls opposite Langkawi Parade, 1km from the hotel). Breakfast is good too. they replenish even at 10am. But it is a local breakfast spread, do not expect scones, bacon, cheese or pastries. Instead for the 4 days i stayed there we had a wonderful breakfast of fried flat noodles, fried rice, cereal, pancakes, chinese style porridge, salads and some local desserts such as agar-agar, currypuffs and samosas. The gym was great too, bonus point for having a seaview! Ample parking, arabic restaurant within the hotel opened until midnight, pool table, pingpong table, jacuzi pool and a nice lounging area. The sofabed was not so comfortable though. The mattress curved up and down like the waves instead of being flat. but since our kids were only 3 feet tall, they had no complaints. overall a good hotel, with beautiful seaview, no beach, not even close to the beach, great swimming pool, good amenities and good local breakfast spread. Camar was not the first resort which popped up on my choice of hotels in Langkawi but I have no regrets. From the time we stepped into the hotel the staff were extremely helpful and friendly not to mention going out of their way to find mint for our mojitos! If you're looking for a laid back, relaxing stay in Langkawi this hotel is for you. The pool was pristine and breakfast options were more than adequate. The resort is a short Grab ride from Pantai Cenang and there is nothing you cannot get from close by. We even booked tours and exchanged currency right across from the hotel with extremely competitive rates. I hope the resort keeps up their high level of cleanliness and professionalism for years to come.

First of all, to avoid confusion, this room is situated in Langkawi Lagoon Resort BUT it is managed by Ombak Villa. Very strange thing about Langkawi Lagoon Resort is that the rooms are managed by different contractors..Other rooms here on Agoda might be at the same location, but managed differently. So although the location of this particular room type is Langkawi Lagoon Resort, reception and breakfast, as well as pool use are at Ombak Villa. Not to worry though as they have buggy services to and fro. Another thing is that the room is not seaview although it is 'beachfront'. That just means it is on the beach rather than the seavillage on the water. It is in the main building of the resort. The rooms do not all have balconies and definitely do not have bathtubs, unlike stated here. That said, the resort is quite nice. It is away from the hustle and bustle of Cenang (the main stretch), but still offers an idyllic beachfront experience. Staff are nice too. Definitely worth it.

Beautiful villas with stunning view. You are surrounded by nature. Peaceful and tranquility. The manager and staff were friendly and attentive to your every need.I celebrated my wife birthday,they went the extra mile by giving a cake to her,eventho we didnt request it.Very thoughtful of them. Place is clean and every staff will greet/smile at you whenever you bump into them.They make you feel welcome all the time.The pool is superb. Best vacation. We are goin there again on out nx vacation.

After vry big disappointed with one of the five star hotel in langkawi. I has done last minute booking to sheraton hotel. We took garden view room. The garden was not green as the maintainance was a bit poor. But the room was grade and the service such as shuttle , staffs was good. Vry friendly. The swimming pool was not well maintained. If the hotel management look in to it means sure this hotel wil be my love one. I paid abt rm370 and I feel it worth for money. ....the food , bar and reception staff was vry good and friendly. I prefer this hotel for next stay

I can literally not say enough good things about Bon Ton. If you are considering whether or not to stay here JUST DO IT as you will not be disappointed. We stayed here as a bit of luxury for our final night in Langkawi and it was the best decision we'd ever made on our travels and our favorite boutique hotel to date. The staff are super friendly and welcoming, the grounds are absolutely breathtaking, and the room was superb beyond words. We had the White Frangipanni room and it was massive, so many rooms, the design was just gorgeous, I loved every single thing about it. The outdoor bath was a fantastic touch. Bon Ton is built alongside an animal shelter so their are cats everywhere, and although I am not a cat lover, these cats were all so friendly and charming that they added so much to our stay, we loved having them around. You can even volunteer to take some of the dogs at the shelter for walks, which we didn't get time to do but I would have loved to take advantage of this. What a great idea. There was an hour of free cocktails for guests in the evening and we stayed here and had dinner and dessert, all of which were utterly fabulous. I can't put into words how awesome Bon Ton is, I literally almost cried when we had to leave. I would return to Langkawi just to stay here again.

We really loved our stay there. Even though the villa is just newly built, and the surrounding premises are in the midst of construction, the villa facilities were lavish. We received a complimentary transfer from airport and the check-in process was very personalized, there was always a staff to guide us through the villa. We were given a mobile where we can contact the staff for anything. The complimentary private mangrove tour was also a nice touch. As a couple on honeymoon, we especially loved the privacy of the villa, overlooking a scenic field, and the facilities especially the lavish bedroom and toilet was perfect for our honeymoon. I would give the private villa a 9/10, and missing out on a perfect score only because of the a few blackouts due to upgrading works to the premises as we were told the completed villas were opened early instead of waiting for all the villas to be completed. However, the blackouts were swiftly remedied by staff immediately after we called, and despite some blackouts, we left Langkawi wishing we could go back to the La Villa Langkawi again someday:)

We were so happy when our room was upgraded to Sea Village Executive Studio Suite when we actually booked for Sea Village Deluxe Studio Suite. We got the best sea view. The studio suite was clean and well equipped with appliances.Bathroom was spacious, got bathtub. Our balcony was awesome. There was buggy service that took us from car park to our suite. We also used the buggy service when we checked out. However, due to the location, sometimes no water at the beach when low tide. Quiet place, but we liked it cause we traveled with little kid. It is 15 mins drive to Cenang Beach (most of the atttractions) but we don't mind (we kinda enjoy leisure driving?). I would say this resort is not for beach activities, but more for relaxing and mind theraphy kind of place. I would definitely visit this resort again.

We are so very happy about our stay at Dash! It is the best! It exceeded our expectations. Everything is so awesome about this hotel, starting from surroundings, pool, giant bunny, ending with client service, food in the restaurant, beach and everything more this hotel provide. The location is perfect, away from busy streets, you can just lay in the beach or at the pool, relax and enjoy the life, listening to the music which DJ play at the pool. The food is so delicious, so tasty, one of the best in the area around. Breakfast was amazing, as well as the restaurant's chef, who is so kind and did all the best to fulfill customers needs. And of course, the pool zone is so wonderful! As far as we saw, Dash resort is one of the best in Langkawi. I would recommend this hotel so very much! And definately would choose Dash again if I come to Langkawi!

The Ocean Lodge , it's a Amazing Place . To stay and enjoy your Holiday . Because of the Owner there . Didi it's a lovely Host. He know this Island very well and give you Tips . What you have to see around this beautiful Island . Langkawi is full with Nature and nice Beaches . It's a Paradise ! Rent a Scooter from Didi and go around this Island . You are Happy . His Scooters in a Great Condition and clean . But this is his Style , typical German .All is very clean at Ocean Lodge . The Room so so clean . And very nice Decorations . Very comfortable Bed i sleep so good . Great Bathroom , Europe Standard . TV , AC, FAN , and Minibar . You don't miss anything . ... And Ocean Lodge Breakfast . Every Day , so Delicious , all ! But I like the Omelet , Amazing ! And Afternoon around 05.00 pm .For Happy Hour on Didis Bar . And he give you more good Tips . Where you can go for Dinner ....Maybe only typical simple Malaysia Food . Very Good ! Or a great Burger , or Top Seafood Restaurant ..And that's all around 50 meters from Ocean Lodge . Great ! After you enjoy your Room again and sleep well . And can't wait for the next Day , to go fishing , or Mangrove Tour , or up to the Sky Bridge . Or Sky Diving .... That's why i like to say ! the information of langkawi hotels is very limited. base on tripadvisor, some other hotels can be very old and disgusting. i chose villa molek because there werent many other choices around. fortunately, villa molek didnt disappointed me. this place is awesome. the room is spacious,clean and quiet.the bed is wide and long, love the pillow and bed. my boyfriend and i had a great sleep every night. the staff are pretty nice,too. they might not have breakfast buffet but their breakfast is great and freshly made. they also provide crabtree & evelyn products, what for can u ask fore. there are also welcome snacks, drinks and fruits. also, they are giving 4 bottles of water everyday location is at pretty good, it is surrounding by many nice restaurant and very close to the beach.

Booked it for one night. Its a resort that has been split and managed by multiple companies so a bit of a challenge to find the correct reception (ours was in a converted room on the 1st Floor). The room is grand, and very clean. Great value for money, its has nice and well maintained grounds and pool so on those two fronts i give it 5 stars. Location is terrible. Far from anything and no in house amenities.

I honestly don’t have one bad thing to say about this place! We only stayed one night but considered staying another because Mohammad made our stay so accommodating! We arrived at 8 am and check in was not until 2pm. However, Mohammad had the room ready for us by 11am for an early check in... and while we waited, Mohammad drove us into town so that we could grab breakfast! He also had great recommendations for local restaurants and bars to visit! If you are looking for a place to stay, look no further! You found an amazing spot!

Fast check-in and out and good customer service. Staff are friendly. Cheapest 4-star hotel in Langkawi and really value for money 10/10! Location is awesome, hotel is beside the airport. 5 mins. walk could reach airport. Very huge hotel lobby and restaurant. Having additional large chandelier light would be very nice though. Large room and large bathroom and clean. Room is well equipped..got tv, aircond, fridge, coffee+tea & kettle, bathtub, got hot shower, iron & board inside wardrobe so no need to request. Room got 2 Queen Beds and 1 sofa-bed which is very nice for family stay indeed. Breakfast buffet spread is good. Mix of local and western food. However,some of the corridor carpets are in bad condition already and some got bad smell. The management should change them immediately in order to maintain the 4-star ratings. And current gym location is not suitable. Overall the hotel is good and value for money. I would recommend this hotel especially to people with limited budget.
