Russia hotels & accommodations

my expectation was little bit high because of the cost is higher than other hotels. but the location is not really good. and few restaurants and breakfast was soso. but almost crews can speak english . that was really good thing because almost hotels can not communicate with english in russia

Everything was great until I was stopped by police( ФМС) to check my doc. hotel stay address, they call it “registration” Even I was given the document that says I’m registered, It wasn’t in the the system of the ФМС. It’s important to be registered when you are traveling to Russia and hotel is responsible to provide you this! They did but it end up to be Fake! The r...

It was our first time in Russia, we found this hotel is closed to many main tourist attractions. There are delicious japanese food in Japanese restaurant downstair as well. We went to restaurant upstair, the view was great. Not far from train station too.

This hotel is a really great choice. First, it's affordable. Second, it's located in a really great spot. The Izmailovsky Market is right next to it, so you can go shopping and being all of your things back to your hotel before going somewhere else. There are also lots of other little shops and restaurants around and the metro is very close. The metro is only 5 station...

Our three night stay was unforgettable. The room was beautiful, spotless and very comfortable. I had my 70th birthday while I was there. When we came back at the hotel that night they supersized me with a birthday cake in our room. the cake was moist and so delicious. Thank you so very much for everything. I would come back here and stay. I would recommend it to every...

We did not have too much time in Vladivostok. The hotel was opposite a good restaurant and next to a 24-hour supermarket. This made going for dinner very easy and it was raining that evening) and buying last minute groceries like chocolates as souvenirs very convenient. I like the large breakfast spread. Some of the food was only so-so but we loved the chicken wing...

location is just ok bc you need to take a taxi whenever you go to restaurants or some places. Hotel kept 2000 ruble for the deposit money and when i got back and asked for four 500ruble, he said NO. just No. nothing else :/ its not nice. well i dont know even if russian ppl are not nice to only ASIANS or every raices. Bathroom was pretty ok but Toliet papers suck... ...

Firstly the location is the best of Moscow for a tourist...central and aristocrat!!At the other side this hotel has the glamour of the past 50 + years but now a renovation is a need. The more unacceptable thing is that there is not any blind curtains and specially from the eastern windows the sun is coming to the room awaking you at the sun rise...at 4.30-5.00 am as w...

Definitely the best hotel I have ever visited in recent few years. Staffs are eager to help you. Rooms are extremely comfortable and make my exhaustive trips more relaxed. I booked for Airport Transfer to the hotel and the service was great too. I don't have any negative comment on this. Great choice.

This hotel is following a european standard therefore you feel that you are getting much more value for your money than in its 4 stars russian standard counterparts. The staff is polite, rooms are cleaned everyday, breakfast is tasty. Location is very close to the main train station and makes your arrival and departure days easier. Its an easy walk to the main attracti...

Pros - 15 min walk to palace bridge/Nievsky/Hermitage Very clean Huge wonderful SPA and gym Nice staff We ate out all the time so cannot say anything about the food We stayed during the FIFA games and finals so lots of security and soccer players roaming around which was cool. all in all would come again for sure Tip for getting around: use gett taxi. che...

Don't expect a smile or politeness of western standards from anyone in the hotel! Excellent view from the suites. Cool with a tub in the room! Breakfast buffet is not included despite the price! But it is sent as roomservice for an acceptable price. Fresh orange juice is recommended. All channels except CNN is in russian, nice LED-flatscree s though. It p...

An excellent vacation in April We've stayed for 5 days, and all 5 days there were a sunny weather, with 20C at the hotel level, 25+C at the bottom of the mountain and about 5-10C at the top of the mountain. If you are planing to ski, it is better stay at a hotel at 960m altitude, since it will be to hot to walk fully equipped. The slopes are well prepared and you will...

It's my first time in this Hotel and I have to say that everything is more than OK. I was in a Junior Suit, incredibly confortable and clean. Staff is nice and very friendly. It's near to Metro Station so it's easy to get fast to the center of Moscow. All around there are green zones... It's one of the best Hotel in Moscow if you consider what You pay and what You get....

Fantastic. The best place to start our trip. The staff members are very professionals and attentive. Very good and fluent in english. The hotel is sharing the location area with the Moscow World Center. To go to the main landmarks of the city of Moscow, there are 2 Metro stations near the hotel. The neigbourhood is safe and very quiet. Many local restaurants, markets, ...

My entire experience was fantastic. The hotel arranged for my airport transfer and didn't up-charge me due to the World Cup. The receptionist spoke fluent English. I had some fears about Russia. Due to her warmth they melted away quickly. The room was immaculate and quiet. Breakfast was tasty and varied. There's a delightful courtyard. The location is perfect. I highl...

Thanks a lot, Victoria. She, working at the reception of Irkutsk Hotel, called me and tried to arrange hospital emergency for my kid after I told her he got cold injury. She is so worried that I have to comfort her finally. Appreciate her consideration and kindness.

Very good, worth staying. There is only one thing I hope to be changed. Sign of shuttle stop. It was that good to be recognized. When I first got outta airport, many taxi drivers tries to cheat me with overprices and wrong location info of the hotel. To be more great hotel near SVO, need to build more signs for travellers. Others are perfect.

The rooms are tiny in this hostel, but clean and comfortable. The kitchen was very useful, it has everything you need, fridge, cooker, kettle, microwave etc. The shower was clean, good water pressure and hot all the time. We didn't use the washing machine, but I think it is very handy too. very basic, but it worth the money you pay. We stayed there summer time, can't ...

Conveniently located with 4 minutes away from Metro green line. Lots of grocery, convenient stores and small shops near by, A shopping mall about 10 minutes walk away. The hotel is clean, nicely maintained although quite small. Since I was out touring all day, I didn't care. The front desk was able to commincate in English. The breakfast was very nice with a variet...

This is highly recommended its near almost everywhere!
Cheap places to stay in Russia

Easy to find, and is very central, close to many attractions. Plenty of food and supermarket nearby. There's always not enough cups or plates on the 2nd floor kitchen, and my food was stolen, half a jar of ajika sauce to be exact, it was in the fridge, labelled. Kitchen is cleaned daily. Wall is thin, you can hear everything. But I met the most amazing people in the ho...

This place is among my top 3 Hostels St Petersburg. Only thing I had trouble with was arriving and opening the gate with the gate code when arriving from Italyanskaja Uliza (usually I enter the code and hashtag after. This one was hashtag first and the code after. I had to wait few minutes for people to go through because my IQ is under 50. This place is peaceful, rel...

Went to Russia for World Cup. This property price is very good if compared to any other places. It's quite far from the venue, but the public transport is not that far. 10 minutes walk only, so I'm ok with that. The staff is nice and friendly even though I didnt speak their language. Room is clean and tidy. Got kitchen to hangout with other traveller.

Very convenient location if you want to stay close to the railway station. Farther away from the center but the tram doesn’t take long to reach and stops pretty much exactly in front of the hostel I had a train at 3.37 AM and was let out by the receptionist, make sure you tell the person in the reception if you leave at night since the door was locked. Quite spacious a...

Rooms are clean, shared bathroom with 4 sinks and showers. Reception guy Nikita spoke fluent english, and girl next to him also when checked in. Easy to manage, easy to find, bar downstairs with amazing drinks selection. Metro is close as well as party streets, except the place is superquiet. Recommend.

When I checked in the female staff aren't very helpful, I asked if they have locker that I can use, she said no locker. After that I point to the locker near the main door and said can I use, she said yes. However the male staff is very kind and even helped me with translation to book a train ticket online. The premise is only 8 minutes walk from central market where y...

nice place good kitchen, clean toilets and showers, staff friendly and helpful but not much English but most all Russia hostels same, close to attractions so can do night walks, restaurant and stores close by, court yard to park my bike. very nice place

Just one minute walk from Kazan cathedral. 15 minutes walk to winter palace. Best location in the city! All staff are friendly, able to give any information you need. The public area has everything including coffee, tea, water dispenser and sofa. Toilet and shower room are pretty small but clean. Personal reading light and power supply are available. I will still choos...

A bit hard to find the hostel at the first time. Close to the metro station and easy access to the main attractions by bud. Staff are nice and willing to help although they do not speak english. The bathroom design may not be convenient for females. But overall, it is a good hostel for budget travellers.

Excellent location next to the pedestrian walkway park. Easy to get using bus from railway station. Very friendly staff. Basic hostel but checks most of the boxes you need - shared bathrooms, kitchen, living room. Make sure to get the code so you can enter the courtyard to access the hostel. The entrance is through a gate. It's not obvious.

the hotel suited us but it is a fair walk to ' downtown '. it was very comfortable ,with clean, modern good sized rooms. the hotel has modern, western decor and is a good novotel standard. we stayed a week and used the public transport system which is cheap, frequent and very crowded in peak times. allow plenty of time when you visit the hermitage .... it can be enerv...

Situated in the hustle and bustle of St Petersburg, this beautiful hotel offered wonderful rooms, great service and a pleasant atmosphere. The location is just perfect, near to Paveltskaya Railway station (Aeroexpress to Airport and Railway to St. Peterburg) and also in between 2 metro station (Paveletskaya and Tretyakovskaya). I booked the same double queen-bed room on two separate check-in dates in the same week. The room on our first check-in date was exactly the same as advertised on Agoda. I was very happy. Staff speaks good English. The hotel is literally above Mendeleevsky metro station - 3 stops to red square and Kremlin. But, when we came back from St Petersburg and re-checked in th...

GREAT staff!!! The room is clean with all the amenities. Friendly and careless staff although the language is a barrier. They will do their best to help you. The breakfast buffet is amazing except not much fruit or juices to select. Marive works at the receptions and she is extraordinary to help. I will definitely recomend this hotel to families and couples.

Few minute walk to Neva River. Being on or near Neva is best. Food was just fantastic. Breakfasts incredible. Extremely friendly staff. Front desk people provided A+ service with all issues. I upgraded from Standard to Superior room. Well worth it if you have a 'roommate'! Beautiful room. Even bathroom floor was heated! Pub was great for later dinners and ambiance. Hou...

We like this hotel a lot,we've spent seperate two nights there, both of the rooms are lovely, capacious space and warm and it's also not far from the metro,it's easy to be found through google maps, compare the other rooms we booked in Moscow,we like Budapest most.

This is my second stay at vedensky hotel. Hotel located in a nice area with lots of places get a quick bite. Grocery store actress hotel with lots of options. Hotel needs some updating, rooms are not what they used to be. Staff is great. Location too long by foot to center. Most likely u would need a taxi, which is cheap unless ur a tourist. The hotel is great although my 4 day stay was unfortunately marred by a Yandex taxi and staff security at Soho Rooms nightclub stealing my mobile phone, expensive designer glasses and a reasonable amount of cash. On my return to the hotel, the staff called the police and they came swiftly to make a statement (I'd waited an hour outside Soho Rooms and called 3 times but...

The hotel is very easy to find and is located in a very nice location, except being a little far away from the nearest metro station. The staffs were all very friendly and most of them speak good English. The room was cozy and nice! I would recommend this to my friends if they are going to visit Moscow!

We stayed in St. Petersburg for 3 days and we loved it. The city is beautiful, with very rich history and amazing palaces. The Kempinski is in a perfect location, only 2 min walk from the Hermitage and 8 min walk from the hydrofoil pier (for excursions to Peterhof palace - highly recommended). We had a room with a beautiful view towards the Church of the Spilled Blood,...

This hotel is very far from everything so if you decide to go with them than be prepared to spend money on taxis. if you do need a taxi do not get one directly from the hotel. they left me 30 min before reaching my destination because the driver did not know where he was going and his phone had died. However George the manager was extremely helpful and he did his best ...

This is a good hotel in an excellent location. The staff is very helpful. Good breakfast and free internet connection. The only bad thing was the bed. It was very very soft. It might be OK if you are very young but my back is in pain. The hotel might have been a 5 star when it was open. I would say 4 stars. Still, very good value for money with Agoda.

Visited Moscow with wife on Vacation, had a splendid time. The hotel was exceptional with very active and friendly staff. Had inadvertently left my phone in a Taxi, the staff was clever to retrieve the phone within the hour. Definitely shall recommend the hotel. Will becoming back.

We did not have time to try their breakfast but they prepared a carry away lunch for us since were were leaving on a early morning bus. Japanese toilets were nice. Best hotel we have stayed at yet in Russia. Seems well run. We will try it again and give it a fuller review.

I have to say that i'm extremely satisfied about the service we received during our stay at Mamaison. Not only all the staff is amazing but the hotel itself is well designed and ultra-clean. with our 2.5 years daughter it was a very good choice of location and hotel setup itself. the restaurant is great and the spa and pool are good to relax ! we will definitly come b...

A lovely boutique hotel, very modern, very clean, very accommodating. The staff was excellent, breakfast, room service was excellent. The style of the hotel is fantastic and a rarity in Russia. Right next to the summer garden and very well located though the metro was a bit of a walk.

Do not stay anywhere else in Moscow. Awesome palace/ hotel . Five minutes walk to the metro and just four stops from the red square. Huge rooms and the most friendly staff especially Vlad the conceage. Sitting in the palace outside courtyard drinking tea is the best experience ever. No need to even go outside to enjoy the lovely place. Don't think twise and book now.

All the staff are nice, perfect position just on the other side of the bus station. If you got some big luggage, better choose main building cuz outbuildings got no elevators, but that won’t change our appreciation to this hotel. If we’ll and I’m sure I’ll be back to Listvyanka, and I’ll choose Mayak

More about Russia
Unveiling the Wonders of Russia
Russia is a land of breathtaking contrasts, where ancient history meets modern innovation. Each region boasts its own unique charm, with diverse landscapes ranging from the snow-capped peaks of the Caucasus Mountains to the lush forests of Siberia. The rich tapestry of Russian culture is woven through its literature, music, and art, making it a treasure trove for those looking to explore beyond the typical tourist paths.
Visitors to Russia will find themselves immersed in a vibrant cultural scene, with opportunities to experience traditional folk performances, contemporary art exhibitions, and world-class ballet. The historical significance of places like the Kremlin and the State Hermitage Museum invites travelers to step back in time and appreciate the stories that have shaped this nation. Whether wandering through the bustling streets of St. Petersburg or enjoying a quiet moment in one of the many parks, such as Patriarch's Pond or City Park, the beauty of Russia is sure to leave a lasting impression.
When to Experience the Magic of Russia
Timing your visit to Russia can greatly enhance your experience, as the country boasts a variety of seasonal attractions and events. The summer months, from June to August, are ideal for exploring the vibrant cities, as the weather is generally warm and sunny. This period is also when many outdoor festivals and cultural events take place, showcasing the best of Russian traditions. However, be prepared for the peak tourist season, which means popular attractions may be crowded.
For those who prefer a quieter atmosphere, consider visiting during the shoulder seasons of spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October). These months offer milder weather and fewer tourists, allowing for a more intimate exploration of the country's rich heritage. Winter, from December to February, transforms Russia into a snowy wonderland, perfect for those interested in winter sports or experiencing the magic of Russian winter festivals, such as Maslenitsa, a celebration marking the end of winter.
Essential Tips for Traveling in Russia
Traveling in Russia can be an enriching experience, but it’s important to be prepared. First and foremost, ensure you have the necessary visa to enter the country. Depending on your nationality, the application process may vary, so check the requirements well in advance of your trip. Currency exchange can also be a consideration; it’s advisable to have some Russian rubles on hand for small purchases, as not all places accept credit cards. ATMs are widely available, but always notify your bank of your travel plans to avoid any issues with your cards.
Cultural etiquette plays a significant role in enhancing your travel experience. Russians are known for their hospitality, but it’s important to be respectful of local customs. For instance, when entering someone’s home, it’s customary to remove your shoes and bring a small gift, such as flowers or sweets. Learning a few basic phrases in Russian can go a long way in breaking the ice and showing appreciation for the culture. Simple greetings like “Zdravstvuyte” (Hello) and “Spasibo” (Thank you) can make your interactions more enjoyable.
Where to Find the Best Hotels in Russia
Finding the right accommodation in Russia can enhance your travel experience significantly. Major cities like Moscow and St. Petersburg offer a wide range of hotels, from luxurious five-star establishments to budget-friendly options. In Moscow, visitors can enjoy the opulence of hotels located near the Red Square, providing easy access to iconic landmarks. St. Petersburg, known for its stunning architecture and canals, also features numerous accommodations that cater to different budgets and preferences.
For travelers seeking unique experiences, consider staying in boutique hotels that reflect the local character and charm. These establishments often provide personalized service and a cozy atmosphere, making them a great choice for those looking to immerse themselves in Russian culture. Agoda.com offers a comprehensive selection of hotels and accommodations throughout Russia, allowing you to find the perfect place to rest after a day of exploration.
Unique Stays to Consider in Russia
For those looking to step outside the ordinary, Russia offers a variety of unique accommodations that promise unforgettable experiences. Imagine spending a night in a historic mansion or a charming dacha (country house) surrounded by nature. Many of these distinctive stays are located in picturesque settings, allowing guests to connect with the stunning landscapes that Russia has to offer.
Vacation rentals are also a popular choice, providing travelers with the opportunity to live like a local. From cozy apartments in the heart of bustling cities to serene cabins in the countryside, these accommodations often come equipped with kitchen facilities, making them ideal for families or groups. For a truly memorable experience, consider booking a stay in a traditional Russian izba (log cabin), where you can enjoy the warmth of a wood stove and the beauty of rural life.
Family-Friendly Hotels for Memorable Getaways
Traveling with family in Russia can be a delightful experience, especially when you choose accommodations that cater to both children and adults. Many hotels in major cities like Moscow and St. Petersburg have embraced family-friendly amenities, ensuring that parents can relax while kids enjoy their stay. Look for hotels that offer spacious family rooms, children's play areas, and even on-site activities designed to keep younger guests entertained.
For instance, the Gorkiy Central Park of Culture and Recreation in Moscow is a fantastic spot for families. Nearby hotels often provide easy access to the park's attractions, which include playgrounds, amusement rides, and open spaces for picnics.
