I stayed with my friend and it was a clean and satisfying accommodation!”
As a pedestrian, the distance to Hwangridan-gil was important to me, but it was only a 15-20 minute walk, so it was manageable! The room we stayed in, 'Hwadanghwa', was perfect for two people. It was cozy and good enough with two blankets. I was surprised that the accommodation was cleaner than I expected! The view and the yard were also very beautiful! For breakfast, we went to Sura-gan and had to make our own toast. It was like a real Hanok experience, so even though I don't usually eat breakfast, I woke up early to make toast and enjoyed it. Above all, the owner was very kind and we were very satisfied! When we go to Gyeongju again, we want to stay here again~~
Excellent”
The owner is very nice! He can communicate with you through translation software without any problem. You can store your luggage and if you can't get a taxi, the owner can help you call one. The room is clean and comfortable, although a bit small. It's cool to experience living in a Korean traditional house (it's beautiful outside during the day)! The floor heating is turned on during winter, but it can be a bit too stuffy. It's recommended to open a door or window or turn on the air conditioning. The location is a bit remote (there's a cafe about 10 minutes away), so it's recommended to bring food when checking in at night, otherwise it can be a bit scary to walk on the small roads at night. Breakfast is served in the kitchen and includes fruits, cereal, instant noodles, etc. You may need to fry your own eggs. Overall, it's a good accommodation experience!
Recommended for a simple, clean, and satisfying accommodation.”
The accommodation is a traditional Korean house, so there is a courtyard. The room is on the smaller side, but it doesn't feel cramped and there is no unpleasant odor. The room has all the necessary amenities and is simple, clean, and convenient. The breakfast is also excellent, and the hosts are modest and kind, making me want to stay there again when I return. The location is great, as it is only 2-3 minutes away from Gyeongju Daereungwon, and the transportation is excellent.
Neat Hanok Accommodation”
First of all, the courtyard was very beautiful and the owner was kind. Above all, it was great that the Hanok Village and tourist attractions such as Woljeong Bridge were within walking distance.
A hanok stay that feels like a home stay”
It was my first time visiting Gyeongju, 'The Museum Without Walls' so I also decuded to have my first experience of a traditional Hanok stay. I'm so glad that I chose this pension for my stay. It's located just outside of the downtown area so you're surrounded by fields and houses. It's actually within walking distance of the town, but if you don't feel like walking you can easily get a taxi or head to a nearby bus stop. It's also within walking distance of some of Gyeongju's most famous historical sites, such as Cheomseongdae and Woljeonggyo Bridge. Close to the bridge, there is a small hanok village with cute cafés and gift shops. There's also a small convenience store too. The pension itself is absolutely beautiful, especially at night and early in the morning. You can see great views of the fields and it's extremely peaceful and quiet, except for the croaking of the frogs! But I'd prefer to fall asleep listening to them over traffic noise. My room was very clean and tidy. They provide bedding, towels, water (inside the mini fridge), soap, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner which is very convenient. There's also a hair dryer available. As it's a hanok stay, you do sleep on the floor. It takes a little getting used to, but it's a good experience. My room was warm but not too hot during the night so it was comfortable. The owners are so kind and helpful. They don't speak English so if you can speak some Korean that would be useful, otherwise a translation app like Papago is essential. But both owners always greet you with a smile and want you to feel comfortable. If you need clean towels or more water they will happily provide it. Breakfast is available until around 10 or 10:30am. You can use the kitchen facilities and have coffee or fruit juice. There's also fruit, toast, eggs etc. I was a little nervous about travelling solo to another city in Korea, but I felt so welcome and cared for by the owners at the pension, almost like I was at a home stay. I really enjoyed my trip and hope to visit again some day.
