Ipoh City hotels & places to stay

When i was looking for hotel searching at agoda.com, was attracted by this hotel photo. and secondly the price. which is very good compare to other hotel in ipoh. Booked my stay and check in late afternoon. the hotel is clean and new. Overall experience is good. Bump into group check in, so there are some delay during check in, lucky they have a massage centre beside the lobby, so that we can pamper ourself with massage while waiting for the check in.

Excelsior is centrally located and excellent starting point for visitors . Walking distance to all the foodies joints - top 3 dim sum restaurants is right behind the hotel 1 minute walk, "tauge chicken", supper joints - opposite the hotel and food street ( 5 minute). Ipoh Parade shopping mall is 5 minute walk. Front desk are well trained and understand the guest needs, quick check in. Room is a huge surprise - excellent bathroom - shower stall can be improved with an additional glass door, wet floor.Room size is more than expected and ample space and well appointed. For the room rate - no need to go to IBIS, Cititel ( wrong location), Heritage (is too far away without car ), Seemsoon is located in the wrong and quiet part of the city. The price and value equation - Excelsior is definitely the best for its guests. Recommend visitor to try, stay in the rear rooms as road noise can be disturbing.

Stayed only for one night but very staisfied. Booked 2 rooms with interconnecting door. Mainly due to room size which size is quite generous, each bathroom got bathtub and best location to explore Ipoh city. Also we got complimentary parking at lower floors. Tried the swimming pool and quite like it, not too big or too deep. Bfast is also not bad and hotel staffs were very helpful. Recommended to all.

Our experience and stay at the hotel was truly a wonderful experience. Check-in was hassle free and the service of the hotel’s front desk and the chambermaids was wonderful. The facilities like free Wi-Fi and free usage of the hotel’s two front lobby computers and and free printing services and the spacious and clean rooms were magnificent and value for money for the same price in comparison to other hotels in Malaysia of the same price. Security was good as I could observe the car park attendants constantly patrolling the hotel’s front compound regularly. The rooms also offered a fairly good view of the skyline of Ipoh city (depending on which room that you get). The hotel room offered a good spread of TV programmes ranging from HBO to ASTRO entertainment channel, Bloomberg, BBC channel, Discovery Channel, National Geographic plus local channels all make it a complete experience. This is a hotel that we would recommend strongly against the other hotels in Ipoh city.

Having read other travellers' review, we were just as curious to experience the uniqueness of this Hotel during our travel to Batu Gajah. A comfortable, clean and strategic location next to the mall is on top of our list in choosing a hotel close to where we are heading the next day. As what others gave their reviews, this hotel is definitely unique and the interior design is eye catching. To add on to it, the room we stayed are equipped with full amenities and linens are clean, bed and towels are comfy too. We didnt get the chance to eat at their restaurant (yes its open by now) as we were determined to explore Ipoh city. Reception staff are friendly and polite too. They even offered to pick us up from the nearby Tesco mall as we couldn't find the hotel (our first time around Station 18 area). Luckily we loose our panic and use Waze GPS. We then realized it was just opposite to Aeon Station 18 mall. Although we were able to locate the hotel, reception staff are ready to offer help in picking us up. Thumbs up to them! All in all, our stay was a pleasant one and we would come back to the same hotel for sure. The down side of this hotel is only the connectivity to Wi-fi in which, the assurance the hotel gave is that they are still working on it. It doesnt affect us much though as we were out from the hotel most of the day time. Perhaps in our next stay, they would already have wifi connection in place.

A really exceptional boutique hotel in Ipoh. Hotel and rooms decorations are very true to Balinese style. Very romantically and tastefully done. The garden view room with bathtub is great. There’s a balcony area by the fish pond with beautiful and healthy koi fish. They provide you fish feeding food too so it can be a great experience for both children or adults. The bathroom is very spacious with nice bathtub. Staff was friendly too. You order your breakfast from the menu. The hotel location is not bad too, at the quieter residential area but not too far away from the town (need a car to go out though). Give it a try!

I travel to ipoh with my 2 kids (2yrs and 5 months), old hotel but still in good condition. I choose this hotel because have swimming pool and here got 2 separate swimming pool which is for adult and kid. What more surprise was they gave us 2 free breakfast (which is not shown in their description) when I booked the hotel and the breakfast was fantastic. So my conclusion is this hotel worth it to stay because where can I get a hotel which is below RM 100 / night, got separate swimming pool, and free breakfast. For sure will stay here in the future if we travel to Ipoh.

I have been a regular at Fairpark. The hotel is located nearby restaurants and is closeby to Ipoh City. The staff are friendly and warm. Initially I was not happy with the room given but the staff was kind enough to change the room for me. However, maintainence could be a bit better. Pillows are too thin, need about 2 for a comfortable sleep (extra pillow has an extra charge). The mattresses are a bit old, you could feel and hear the springs making a bit of noise. But on a whole, Fairpark hotel is a comfortable hotel. Suitable if you're looking for a basic hotel to sleep with a clean bathroom.

Pros: 1) Got the room for RM60 a night — it's very value for money, from the facilities we have. Got water dispenser outside the room, clean toilet, GREAT water pressure and water heater!!, clean room in general. 2) They read the reviews online and ensured the dogs aren't roaming free. We weren't chased by the dogs when we were there, unlike the reviews we read here haha 3) Receptionist was nice :) Cons: 1) Location. Got a karaoke bar next door, there's music coming into our room at night lol. A bit far from the city, takes 20 mins to reach the city by car, might not recommend for solo travellers who want to explore Ipoh city 2) bed comfort: pillow a bit flat and mattress a bit uncomfortable. The blanket was comfy though. But for RM60 a night, okay ba.

Hotel location is convenient. Easy to find car park and is free parking. Great place for family and group gathering with clean beds and all basic necessities. Communication and check in process need improvement. The apts we booked were apparently owned by private owner and not by Riverfront Hotel & Suite so we can’t check in at the hotel reception. It was unclear to us how we could check in and get the apt key. This delayed us for almost an hour for the check in. Agoda or the apt owner should have informed the guest on the check in process and the contact to call so as to reduce any confusion and delay at check in. Other than that, everything else was fine. Will come back to stay again.

A very clean and new built hotel, modern and concept designed. Price is reasonable, staff is friendly and good services. Room is just alright (suitable for couple), washroom is big than my expectation. The only improvement for the hotel is the water heater, water turned cooler during shower. Location is good, few restaurants nearby and about 4km away from Ipoh city. The maindoor in lobby will be locked at 11pm, if you back after 11pm, you have to scan your room accesss card beside the door and get into the hotel. I will definately come back again, recommend this hotel as my 1st choice in Ipoh.

Hotel is brand new with own cafe just next to it. Lots of eateries nearby within walking distance. Parking at hotel basement is limited, therefore we had to park at the shoplot parking in front of the hotel , but safe and plenty of space available. Water pressure at bathroom is good. Air conditioning working well. Room is quite small compare to other hotels in Ipoh. but is not an issue for two person.

I am very happy with the choice of Shamrock Guest House for my short stay in Ipoh. Upon checking in, the owner's daughter, Miss Loke was already expecting us and she even helped with carrying our luggages to the room. When we asked for additional pillow and blanket, she happily obliged. The hotel is strategically located in the city centre where majority of the famous eateries are within walking distance from the hotel. There are also many restaurants around the hotel area which is very convenient. The owner, Mr Loke even came knocking on our door to inform us to park the car right in front of the hotel at night where a guard is around. If you are in Ipoh for a short stay without much time to enjoy facilities of those 4 or 5 stars hotel, Shamrock Guest House is a good choice given the good condition of the hotel and the friendliness of the owner.

Concept by WEIL is a fantastic concept indeed, boutique within a hotel. Almost everything was perfect, the lounge on Level 12, the attentive service, snacks on minibar, comfy bed and the Concept itself. What could have been better is the cleanliness of the room. Dust was evident everywhere in the room eg once you draw the curtains and on the sink and wardrobe. For this price, you can never leave things for granted and make the hotel stand up above the rest. Regardless, it’s still a top hotel to consider while you are in Ipoh. 2nd time staying here and will be back again.

This hotel is about 2 months in operation. Attracted with good reviews from others in Agoda, I decided to bring my small family to stay 1 night at Ipoh. Impressed with the interior design of this 2 star rated hotel, it is also has a lift to ease guests to get into their room at upper level. For me, the hotel’s rooms rate is reasonable and affordable; plus the price offered by Agoda during my stay was good deal to grasp. Their staffs also found friendly to the guests. It is recommended for anyone who wants to have a good rest after a long trip/journey though its location quite offset from Ipoh city.

YMCA in Ipoh, is an excellent value for money accommodation. We stayed 4 nights in August 2018 and found that the staff very friendly and helpful. The whole building is very clean and our room was very large. All the basic requirements were in the room and they also supply 1 bottle of water for every person per day. In addition, there is a water dispenser on the ground floor. YMCA in Ipoh has a plan to renovate and modernise the building and I am sure that in the future the facilities will be greater.

I booked the room on the same day of arrival. My wife is attending a medical conference in another hotel in ipoh . We have to be there early morning next day.since the room is fully booked so we decided to stay in aestana a day befor the conference. We came with 2 small kids 1yr n 3yr old n arrived around 1am after departed frm kl at 9pm. The staff were very helpful n they were expecting us at the front door. They helped us with the luggage n accompany my wife n my sleepy kids to the room immediately. the check out was fast n the staff gave us a good direction to the conference hotel. Room is although small but its clean n makes us feel safe n satisfied with the reasonably cheap hotel rate that we paid. Thank you.

is good stay for business, travel, visit and etc. i recommend to who want to visit to ipoh, perak, this hotel is most suitable who looking for not expensive and clean. And the important is location is in ipoh city, parking for customer is available and safety. Facilities in hotel room are good, 32" television, water heater, air-conditioner and towel. But the cleaner staff was not friendly.

This is my third time stay at this hotel. If you are a solo traveller and a very private person, looking for a room for stay for 1 person, do look out for this hotel. The price is very affordable, and make sure booked from Agoda. The price is similiar to sharing @ dorm room. The place is quite easy to find. Only that it is far from Ipoh Town. About 20-30 mins to reach Ipoh town. But it is okay for me because of the price. The room is comfortable, have water heater, aircond was very cold, and I have a very good sleep. It is just that the wifi us very slow, and the mobile internet receiving was very poor, that i almost explode when I cant load, especially for Instagram apps 😂. Overall, there is more pros than cons staying at this place. Will definitely come and stay again. Oh ya, please bring along your own hanger, as there are no hanger provided in the room. Not sure whether can ask for it, but just bring along for your own safety 😁

We booked this hotel is because of its location where just beside the wedding dinner venue. It is new and near to Ipoh city. But it is a bit difficult to find the hotel out as it is located at the back of the building and their signboard at roadside is too small. There are plenty of car park spaces in front of the hotel. Staffs are friendly enough but they required the guest has to pay deposit upon check-in and this is not stated in Agoda page. The room is new, clean and spacious. I like their king size bed, its quality make us comfort and nice to sleep. One thing has to take note is their water heater is not working properly, sometimes you are not able to get hot shower at all. Overall, we are glad to stay in this hotel and will come back again if travel to Ipoh in the future.
