Where to stay in District of Columbia
District of Columbia hotels & accommodations

I live in the city and booked this hotel at the last minute due to renovations at my apartment. Initially, I only reserved it for the price, but I was surprised to find that the hotel was only a few blocks from the White House and it was in such a nice location! Upon check in, I spoke to the front desk representatives Alain and Simon Attaghba. They were so sweet and...

I've stayed in this hotel previously, while attending a business convention. The room price was HALF of the convention rate, so the hotel was affordable. The valet parking is convenient, but too expensive. Free wifi is a must a hotel specializing in convention business. Not JUST in the lobby. A three-block walk to the Metro can get one anywhere within the hour. Very co...

We stayed here in part because it was one of the best priced mid range hotels we would find at the last minute (we booked same day) and were really happy we did. Reasons it gets good ratings from me: - interesting architecture of past era - excellent customer service, greetings, concierge, etc. - terrific pool (17 meters), can do laps but also set up so families and ...

The hotel is on its own block, so it's very hard to find parking. The valet parking is $44/night... Pretty expensive if you ask me. The room i booked said it had a kitchenette in it, however, when we got in the room, there wasn't even a mini fridge. Since we brought food and things that needed to be cooked it refrigerated, we needed that. We were able to upgrade our ro...

I found The Wink by doing a random search for hotels in DC. The price was incredible. The fact that I was able to bring my dog, for free, was amazing. All of the hotel staff I came in contact with were courteous and helpful. The hotel was clean, stylish, and had the best water pressure I have ever had in a shower or sink, including my own house. The location was close...

You will be charged a $23.00 per day fee for amenities we did not use except four bottles of water. We were even charged the day we left by noon time. Caution, to receive the $10.00 meal credit you MUST charge to room or they will not honor it. I paid cash twice and was not given the $20. 00 credit! I was never told it a $10.00 meal credit PER DAY or I would have charg...

Overall, a good experience. I do think the hotel is missing a vital component: a business center. UPS has an arrangement with the hotel, but you'll be looking at a $10 minimum to get on a computer. You can walk up the street to the neighboring hotel and hop on for nothing. Also, in the heat of the summer, offering water would be nice; I was referred to the gift shop wh...

The Georgetown inn is in a great location, right in the heart of Georgetown, walking distance to all the great restaurants, the harbour/boat rides and funky little shops. The rooms are stylish and offer extra amenities such as complimentary, oh-so-soft robes and big umbrellas (but don't try to take them with you when you leave or you will find a $75 charge on your bi...

Beautiful property steps from McPherson Sq Metro. Elegantly restored with a "classic" luxury hotel look and feel. Examples of service issues: when checking in, was told I had to wait in the lobby (about 20 mins) for the agoda.com reservation to appear in their system. Courtesy shoeshine (nice touch) available, but they did not pick up shoes. Room phone unplugged; ...

It was a beautiful hotel, neat union Station, has a supermarket beside it, easy access, metro behind, best of all William, the excellent staff in the checkin counter is absolutely friendly and accomodating. He checked us in at 2AM in the morning like it was daylight, with absolute brightness and cheer. The Hotel is spot on in cleanliness and plus more. I would stay he...

My husband and I stayed here for 7 day during the 4th of july week , the place is amazing close to everything 2 blocks from the White House and the circulator bus stop is just across the street. This hotel is very clean and the staff are friendly. When I book this hotel it says no breakfast unless you paid extra but when we check in I ask the the lady if it comes wi...

We had a room for three, with plenty of space, but having stayed previously as a couple I expected the larger room with the lounge area. Wasn’t a problem though as we were only there for one night. There was no bottled water (as previously) and it took us one cold shower to realise that the switch on the bathroom wall made the water hot as well as giving full power to...

Stayed at this hotel for two nights with a friend and we booked separate king rooms which were both massive. We’d just come from NYC so was nice to have more space and for a really good price. Staff were very friendly and offered to change my room straight away when I had a problem with my door. Cocktail hour is also great with delicious cocktails and snacks on offer....

This is a great hotel on Capitol Hill near Union Station. Really good access to the Metro and Amtrak. Best of all, l was not sure I would be able to make this trip to WDC, and Phoenix Park allowed me to reserve a room without requiring a non-refundable deposit as did the other similar hotels. Created a great deal of flexibility for my travel planning.

Cannot fault the attention to detail, and great warmth of welcome during our stay at the Park Hyatt. We felt very much at home in the hotel and loved being in walking distance to George Town as well as bigger excursions to all the sights such as the White House. It is such an easy City to walk around and we also very much appreciated being in the quieter part of the...

Great location, all the main attractions are within walking distance. The Washington area felt very safe with lots of security. The hotel room was large with dressing room off the bathroom and kitchenette area. Tea and coffee available at reception 24/7 and lovely free breakfast. The only thing I was not aware of was the £24 compulsory nightly service charge which is ...

When we drove up to the hotel, I figured it was the same as any other, having a place to park, whether it was a garage or a simple lot. Unfortunately, after driving around the block 3 times, we had no choice but to use the Valet parking & as it turns out, they do have parking but it was within a Residential Parking Garage, which we NEVER would have found. Any other par...

booked a conference room suite, aside from a big conference table, there was nothing to support any conference: no projector , no writing pads, no pens, conference table sits 12 , but only 2 drinking glasses. lights were dim. Breakfast finished right on time, supposed to be able to order your eggs cooked in the style you like, but queue was so long that i did n...

This was our second stay at Cambria Suites. We really like the hotel and the location is close to where our son lives. However this time we were somehwat disappointed that when we booked nor when we checked in, no one informed us of the LOUD construction that was occurring across the street starting at daylight.... Needless to say, we were awakened way earlier than ...

Location was perfect for sightseeing around DC without needing a car or even riding the metro much. We walked back to the hotel late each night without ever feeling unsafe. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Room was clean and had plenty of space. Only downside was the frequent sirens and noise outside the hotel, but that would be the case with any hotel in the city....
Cheap places to stay in District of Columbia

HRH was my very first hostel experience and was so good that I suddenly feel the world of travel possibilities before me—if every hostel is as picturesque, friendly, comfortable, and affordable, then I will be one happy gal. They set the stakes high, though. I stayed in an 8 bed coed room with only four other people (all male). Felt safe and slept well. Keycard to get...

PROS: -good location-- very near train station and restaurants -accommodating and friendly staff-- we were allowed to check in early -good value for money-- there's even free coffee and tea CONS -hotel room not quite clean when we checked in. Found some strands of hair in the drain of the bath tub

This hotel was simply outstanding in every possible way. Some of the main things that impressed me so much: - I arrived very tired and early in the morning, however around about 1 hour later I received an email saying I could get into my room early (with no extra charge!) - Value for money in the room - nice and spacious, at a very reasonable rate (with Netflix!) -...

I booked this hotel because its location is very near the Smithsonian's. The Air and Space Museum is about a block away only. One more black towards the back, you will find the Mall. From there, you will see all the other Smithsonian Museums and the castle. You can see the towering Washington Monument and on the other side, the United States Capitol. The kingroom was...

Ritchie Ingram the front office supervisor was very helpful in assisting us with the city tours and popular sites. Ritchie is very professional ,freindly and a asset to your company. Annette was helpful during the morning breakfast, greeting us with a smile and taking pride in her work. Employees like Ritchie and Annette is one of the reasons we choose Hyatt Place Hote...

I chose this hotel because of its location: close (2 blocks from) to the National Mall and all the museums, the White House, etc.; has a Metro Station right next to it; a park in front; and close (2 blocks from) to the Capital Hilton where I was supposed to spend most of my time in DC. It's also near a Catholic Church, and Dupont Circle (within walking distance). I'v...

Our 5 day stay at the Hyatt Place Washington DC/ US Capitol, was one of the best travel experiences we have ever had! From the courteous and accommodating Front Desk Staff to the efficient and enthusiastic Valet Operation, every aspect of our trip was enhanced by the expertise and pure customer service excellence of the Hyatt Place Staff. Thank you and we hope to be...

I enjoyed my stay at Embassy Suites Chevy Chase very much. A friend decided to stay with me and even though I had prepaid my stay through Agoda, they changed my room to a two queen size bed room. The room was clean with wood floors and I felt very safe in the hotel. The staff were very cordial and friendly. Parking was no problem. There were plenty of restaurants, sh...

The hotel is not as pictured. It was much more run down inside than expected. I needed 3 rooms to get a satisfactory result. the first room was missing a light bulb in the bath. As bathroom light in hotels is notoriously bad (not just here), I called to get a new bulb. Putting that bulb in shorted out the entire bath. So I got another room. The second room was no...

Overall a great stay. The staff were very friendly and the restaurant, Firefly, is awesome. They have a complimentary cocktail hour with free wine and food, which is lovely. The area is convenient being just off Dupont Circle. The area around Dupont Circle has great restaurants. Try Hank's Oyster Bar!

The web page said that I will pay while I come to the apartment. Besides, it also said that I can freely cancel earlier than 30 days before I arrive. However, my credit card was swiped earlier than 40 days before I arrive and there was not any notification to me. It looked like that my credit card number has been stolen and swiped. Therefore my bank suggested me...

i chose this hotel because of its proximity to the white house and the mall; walking distance actually. i had no idea how the hotel looked and was quite disappointed when we arrived because the facade was really not so impressive or grand, compared to the hotel in las vegas we had just come from. the lobby was so small too, that i was a bit embarassed and worried about...

My partner and I stayed for 1 night for a show at the Fillmore. We arrived for check in at 7pm. We had to figure out how to access the wifi, locate the elevator and find out the pool would be closed for maintenance on our way to locate our 4th floor room. I passed on an Airbnb equally priced that I’m sure would’ve been cleaner. The room smelled like smoke, the second...

We arrived at 1am in the morning and the hotel staff was very welcoming. The vallet parking attendant was super duper friendly. We liked him very much but we don't get to see him on the next few days we stayed there. The receptionist was very very helpful too. There was no bell-boy around at 1am. I don't know if you consider this 5 star hotel to have no 24 hours b...

stayed for 2 nights. the location is not touristy or commercial, therefore not too noisey in the evening. originally booked in a double deluxe and we were offered the king deluxe for extra us 20 with city view. rooms were large and plenty of space to move around. the roof level bar upstairs is great if your thirsty for a drink without travelling outside.

The only down side to my visit is that there is no pool or spa services at this hotel even though it was advertised on your site. I was told the pool was removed last year. That said, the concierge booked an in room massage with an outside vendor that was amazing.

This is a comfortable, quite elegant hotel. We found the rooms a comfortable size, not cavernous as in some of the chain hotels. There is good shopping nearby (Whole Foods, a pharmacy, etc.). There are also nearby restaurants, and the excellent restaurants in Georgetown are about a 30 minute walk away. The free parking is a big plus. The shuttle service to the Met...

This hotel is listed as pet and kid friendly. Sadly though, there is no indoor pool or breakfast. The in house restaurants were closed. We traveled outside to the street area, which was fine, just an inconvenience. The bathtub would not hold water with the plug in it, but no worries as I think it was clogged along the line because when you took a shower you were st...

The hotel is about 10 min from Union bus stand and 20 min from DCA.Is a huge property. The Reception staff were very pleasant and helping.Thank you Emman. There's no swimming pool. The room size is good, but the beds are just ok.To reach the room is like amaze, confusing.

I really enjoyed my stay at The Fairfax Embassy Row. The room was very nice, great size, clean and well presented. Food was of great quality also. The staff were most friendly and offered up a list of things to do without me asking. Looking down on Massachusetts Ave, it was a short walk from some great eateries and bars and cafe's. About a 5 minute walk from the river,...

Beautiful hotel, great location. Rooms clean, nice rooftop pool & bar, which can be very overcrowded on nice days. West wing cafe across the street for snacks, water, etc. and a Starbucks 1 /2 block away. Add to your room fees about $20 local taxes, $25 fee for facilities/pool use, etc. also expensive valet parking. Pay $6 in room to use a liter of bottled water. Grea...

If you want to be in the heart of DC, and don't want to spend a fortune on your hotel, this is your place. Conveniently located near Dupont Circle, you can walk almost everywhere. Exceptional hotel, but tainted slightly by the policies of the Intercontinental Hotel Group. Having to pay for WiFi in a 5-star hotel is a bit petty for example. Food is completely overpriced, and the breakfast is only average. That said, the atmosphere, elegance and comfort of the hotel itself certainly make up for the above shortcomings. The location is superb, and m...
