Where to stay in Marrakech-Tensift-Al Haouz
I plan to return and having stayed at many riads and hotels in Marrakech this is the best one. The location is great and the services and rooms are high quality.
We stayed for 6 nights in december ,recieved a warm welcome from the Staff ,we had to wait over 2 hours to get a room but the room was beautiful ,we had a double and it was perfect for us . 5 stars in Marrakech is nowhere near 5 stars in europe but it was a definite 4 stars and we were Happy with that . Staff were polite and friendly at all times . Perfect location...
As seasoned travellers we’ve been to many hotels around the world, but there is something about Dar Les Cigognes (DLC) that sets it apart.... it’s people. The moment you walk in Hayat, the resident manager, greets you like an old friend welcoming you home. The rest of the staff will help you with everything and anything -they truly care that you have the perfect stay....
Getting there is difficult (specially if it's the first time you are in Marrakech). It is two/three streets away from the main square. The street where it is located looks dirty and ugly but the hotel from the inside is really nice. It is a very good hide away from the craziness of the streets (very peaceful and quiet, with trees in the yard). Our room was nice, alt...
I strongly recommend this hotel as the location is brilliant thanks to talk buildings the swimming pool areas can be cool when the weather is hot. My kids loved it. We found alots shops around and si close by. Taxis are so cheap and easy to catch. The staff were really nice professional and welcoming I would stay there again
Hotel Rose Meryem surpassed our expectations. We wanted to live in a typical Moroccan Riad mostly to get a good contact with other guests and a host family. And we directly felt welcomed by the family. Zeyneb and Rabiya were there to welcome us and show us around. We got 2 rums on the first flor overlooking the patio. Breakfast was very good; especially the honey panca...
We were at Novotel for three nights. Our visit was made easy, relaxing and memorable because of our stay at Novotel Marrakech. Perfect location within 15 minutes you can be any where, like Airport, Menara Garden, Manera Mall, Katoubia Mosque and Jema ul Fana. Hop on Hop off bus stop was just outside the hotel. Staff was tooooooooooo good especially Mehdi, he made us fe...
the hotel is really close to the square, so it is good but you have to pay extra for the air con and the breafast is overprice yet terrible.
When we arrived we were given mint tea on arrival and had people greet us as soon as we got out the taxi they looked after our bags. They gave us a free upgrade to a pool view. The rooms were very nice and modern and very cleaned very well every day. I think the service from the staff was great they were so happy to help you with anything you needed.
It was good, but I'd give it four, not five, stars. The bed was lumpy, service was friendly but not always easy to find, and there were renos happening right outside my room, so I had to keep the drapes shut. The hotel is beautiful and is a destination itself.
Very nice building, yet in need of some modernisation and renovation. Furniture gets old and shabby, but I’m sure 20 years ago it was a great hotel. Nothing provided, not even bottle of complimentary water, let alone tea or coffe or an electric kettle. One old towel for two people. Safe box not in working order ... but all that seems to be completely acceptable by loca...
This is like an Oasis in Marrakech, got great air conditioning inside which is what u need in Marrakech in july!!! Loved the decor that gives you a Moroccan vibe as oppose to four seasons that was more modern, the room was nice, spacious and got a good ac going on. staff were nice, didn't enjoy the breakfast just because it was more of a local style than full english o...
As a family of 3 including a 15 month old baby it took us a while to decide on where to stay in Marrakech, we eventually decided on Hotel Opera Plaza and it never disappointed us. The hotel and bedrooms have a beatiful build which combines cultural Morroco with a modern luxury feel. We were blown away with the choice and service at breakfast, our favourite was the fres...
Very nice hotel, a beatiful garden and sourroundings. And he staff was very friendly and helpful. Thank you for a nice stay.
My wife and I had booked lots of hotels/resorts for our recent 3 week honeymoon holiday. Admittingely I was nervous about most of our destinations -- Riad Zolah was the exception to the fact. I was amazed to find such a fantastic deal for Zolah on Agoda.com -- the reviews on every travel site are amazing. Deservingly so, Fatima, Abdul and the entire staff at Zolah trea...
We really liked the Riad Lila. Beautiful fiew from the Roof top. It was very Close to the souks of Marrakech. if you want to travel by yourself from the Airport, take the bus. the taxi stops at the same place like the bus, at the Place Jemaa El Fna. you can only reach the Hotel by Walking. we had a great time.
This was long overdue. We travelled to Marrakech in December last year, but even the short stay at La Terrasse de Oliviers has left an indelible mark! Renaud and his staff are wonderfully hospitable and will go that extra step to make you feel at home. Even the Riad is homely, and located close to all major sights. We wish we had stayed longer, but the next time we ret...
Staying at the Meridien N'Fis was an absolute delight for me and my entire family (3 adult children). Although there are many charming Riyads in Marrakech, the Meridien is ideal in terms of offering a resort-like atmosphere. The only minor negative point would be the difficulty in getting a "big" taxi outside the hotel. I can definitely recommend this hotel for busines...
I spent a week as a solo female traveler and I would highly reccomend this place if you want to feel safe and still be close to where things are happening. The riad is very pretty and the rooms are comfortable. They clean your room everyday and breakfast is very good. They served a different kind of bread everyday. Although I would have prefered to have more healthy ch...
It was my 1st adventure in Marrakech (and it was an adventure!) and after getting a little assistance to finding Riad Dar El Souk (Google maps would have helped), I couldn’t have been more satisfied with my stay. It’s a bit off the beatin path, but so is the rest of Marrakech and that’s part of the charm. Very reasonably priced also. Abdul and staff were very helpfu...
Sometimes the hotel's online pics are deceptive and sometimes they are accurate. In the case of Riad Vert, they did not do the place justice, it is beautiful. My room was large, well appointed, comfortable and had a nice little balcony overlooking the courtyard. Meals served in the courtyard were outstanding. Hospitality of management and staff also outstanding. The ro...
A very friendly hotel with lovely staff. The rooms are spacious, well decorated and clean. Breakfast is lovely.
If you dont stay in the old Medina then this is the best choice in Marrakech...after he madness of the Medina every day it was great to come back to Ibis for a cool swim and cold beer (many places in the Medina do not allow alcohol. Ibis was only 5min by taxi to the Medina...and next to train station...so easy, yet so quiet
The hotel has lots of staff always willing to help! The exterior is of a high standard, clean & contemporary, the rooms were clean however the upkeep like bubbling walls & dirty cushions on the balcony did let it down slightly. Shuttle to the medina daily every hour is helpful, small area to purchase memorabilia & a few homely restaurants. Tax charges at the end of the...
Worth every cent! The hotel is perfected located: opposite the beach, at an entrance to the old medina and close to the main square filled with many food options. Every room is unique but offering the same level of comfort. The terrace is serene - for breakfast or sunset and a drink. By the way, best breakfasts we had in Morroco! Every staff member is kind, friendly an...
This was a very good and almost perfect choice for a stay outside the city center. A mere 5-10 mins drive to the city;s main square, the hotel has a lobby that was palatial and grand. The huge pool appeared stunning from every angle especially from our room terrace. The overall hotel aura was very exotic. The room and bathroom were huge. The breakfast buffet has a su...
Actually the hotel is nice, clean and well located with nice staff. BUT: The machine for the aircon must have been located on the roof right over our room 509. We were on the top floor and at first we were grateful for that because it was quite and no noise from outside... But in the night the loud throbbing humming sound from the roof went right to the bone and findin...
Simple necessities not available ie an iron,no fridge in the room, no adaptors available so had to spend £6 to buy 2 from local shop so can charge mobiles daily. Not a great variety for breakfast either.Wifi dropped constantly and there was no remote to the TV ,bath was awful state, the phone to call reception did not work so due to all this we moved from 4th to 1st f...
Cheap places to stay in Marrakech-Tensift-Al Haouz
The staff is awesome! Simo is the manager and is by far the greatest host we had in Morocco. He sat with us and gave us a map and explained all there is to know around the medina. We stayed for 3 days and he showed us around when needed. There is also Mouhcine who helps around and he was very helpful. He took us around the medina, cooked tajine for us and made our tri...
Great Hostel! Very nice and helpful staff, especially Majid and the owner himself! Recommended!
Nice place to stay. And Walid and lhoussaine really welcome. Thanks.
The hostel is very clean. I booked a bunk bed in a female dorm but was the only one there so had the room and bathroom all to myself for the price of a dorm room. The bathroom and toilet are clean and well-maintained. The terrace where I had breakfast was ok. There’s not really a good view from there but the breeze was nice. The receptionist should smile more to be mor...
Pros: reliable service from staff Cons: hot shower doesn't stay long. Water pressure is not enough.
d sweets, given all the information about the area, things to do, places to see, followed by being shown your room and amenities. The entire Riad is beautiful, colourful and traditional. Great location and very good security. I stayed in the dorm room which sleeps 8, it was spacious and comfortable, though there is not a power socket at every bed, there are more than ...
The host is super nice. Place is clean. The recommendation of restaurants from host is good. Great dinner cook by the host.
basic, clean and cheap accommodation...perfect for travellers on a budget. Extremely helpful and friendly staff....loved it!!...oh and brilliant location!!!
The best equipped hostel I have been to, and a great place to relax between adventures in the medina. At sunset people would gather on the rooftop and then go out to eat together. The entrance of the hostel can be a bit tricky to find.
Beautiful hotel. With tranquil interiors.
Super cheap for centre of Marrakech. Really hot during the summer and since there is no AC you'll be cooked and will get no sleep.
Look, it’s very cheap so so don’t expect a palace! The pillows were really hard, the shower splashed everywhere so the bathroom floor was soaked, the riad was hard to find and we also got woken up all the time by people talking outside our room. Staff were really lovely though and breakfast was small and cute. If you’re a serious budget traveler, this would be great!
Quite eerie as we were the only guests and outnumbered the staff. Afternoon dinner (80 drh pp) was okay and filled us up after hiking. Room wasn't made up whilst out but we prefer to be left alone. Slight selling to hire a guide over lunch (50 drh pp) but definitely not the hard sell. Staff knowledgable of local area and less pushy than the locals in Imlil.
Location & staff excellent, but there are famished mosquitos present due to poor drainage of plants. Bites counted the next morning: 10! Also, I woke up in the middle of of the night to large ants crawling on me. Lastly, no towels or soap provided. I would not this hotel to my worst enemy.
I just stay here for one night, when I came back after sunset, the workers in hotel invited me to experience how to cook tigine, we bought meat & vegetables together, then cook them,it's really a wonderful experience to me,they are very nice & friendly, nice to meet them.hope to stay here again in the future
Don't use agoda to book this hotel, hidden taxes show up at the end of the booking and they are more expensive overall. I suggest using bookingdotcom. The hotel is well located about 10 mins from the town centre. The meals are what you expect from any Moroccan establishment, asking for anything outside of the usual is normally disappointing as with almost anywhere in...
great staff. room was large and clean. hot water all the time. decent breakfast in the morning. convenient location, short walk to main medina and about 20 to the beach.
The location of this hotel is perfect, right in the Djemaa el Fna square which is the main attraction of Marrakech. The rooms are pretty small and dark but very clean so it’s not the best location to laze but is perfect to rest or take a hot shower after a long and agitated day. The only thing we didn’t like about Hotel Cecil was its stuff. We slept there for 3 sepa...

We had a pleasant stay, staff were good and very helpful. Cleanliness was good. The reason we rated the food as only a 1 is because we didn't actually eat anything at the hotel and the review page wouldn't let us bypass that Q!
Awesome stay. So comfortable. Great rooftop, host, breakfast, everything was great!
We really enjoyed our four night stay here. It was very well priced, with inclusive breakfasts and the 8 euro dinners were a bargain, with delicious tagines, soup and fruit. The roof terrace commanded a sweeping view of the mountains and valleys around and was well-sited not only for Imlil but also for trekking around. The helpful, French-speaking staff would arrange f...
Aziz and his wife Asma were wonderful hosts; even before we arrived, e-mail communication was timely and professional. Aziz arranged pickup for us and helped us throughout our stay. We were able to do our laundry, they shared a meal with us, we enjoyed conversations with Aziz about many things, and we felt welcomed. There was an honest mistake made concerning our pa...
Nice little place, kind staff, comfy bed & pillow. Decent wifi at ground floor and on the terrace overlooking the road. Make sure they meet you at the main street the first time you arrive, or if you have to use one of the 'guides' be sure to agree on a price before! Google maps will help you out well though, and the alleys are well lit at night. Don't trust anyone te...
We booked that place from Marrakech late friday afternoon, and decided to go spend the night in Imlil to enjoy better our hike the next day. Right decision ! We had a bit of struggle finding the place as there are two "hotels" that work together, Kasbah Imlil (the one we selected) and Imlil Lodge. It is easy to find Imlil Lodge, it is like 1 km away from the center. On...
Big room and clean. Good location and friendly owner. They help me in everything.
We stayed at Riad des Etoiles for a 3 of nights. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Thank you Sofiane and Mohammed! Location however, was not the best. The Riad was a little bit far from the main hubs, we got lost the first night coming back to the Riad from the main attractions and this was very uncomfortable as we ended up in the 'suburb' behind the Riad. This wa...
Very enjoyable and a relief after Marrakech
My first impression on that hotel was a disappointment. they had double booked my pre paid triple room. and they suggest to transfer us (with a 3 years old shild) to another hotel on the other side of the mountain. I have to insiste to get a small room before we get another one more bigger later. I ve discovered another's hotels more sheap and professional for my nex...
We love this hotel very much. It is so calm, quiet around a nice garden, a nice view. The owner is so friendly, and the food was the best we had in Marocco. We come again. Birgit and Peter Stuttgart

good location and good breakfast
Nice boutique (small) hotel with very polite and helpful staff. Clean rooms. Breakfasts (included) were excellent. Other food/ drink was limited and very expensive - I bought some water for my room from a nearby supermarket (they didn’t like that but were ok with it). The hotel is a little out of the way from the centre of town but there are plenty of taxis available ...
Location is a good 15-min walking distance from Marrakech train station and 30-45mins to the medina. I took a cab for 20dhs to go to Djemma el fna as it was very humid. but enjoyed walking back to the hotel as there were a lot of things to see along the way. Nice pool, good breakfast. Room was ok, mine was facing the pool. bathroom ok too but no bidet. They have goo...
We had a lovely night in Riad Chbanate - room was cosy, warm and had excellent amenities (fire place, romantic bathtub, etc.). Def recommend it
We liked the place although it’s off a square so taxi drops us 300 metres away Then to locate the office for keys across square Then a walk 300m walk in a alleyway to flight of stairs no lifts here a disabled person will find it extremely difficult to 2nd floor quaint rooms of character Delightful little place The rooftops has excellent clear views of ocean n beach...
Very personalised service provided at the Riad, and one of the best locations as it is in the heart of the local markets, and a few minutes away from the main square.
We had such a lovely time at Darsor. The staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The room was spacious and nicely decorated. It was a 15 minute walk from the new city or to Jemaa el Fna. Would defintely recommend it.
The staff are really nice. They may not speak English but they would do their best to help you. I had an early check-in but I remembered the room i booked wrongly (it should be marron but i remembered it as vert(?)). It caused the cleaning ladies to quickly clean up the wrong room. Once they realised that it was not the room I booked, they called their boss to confirm ...
Enjoyed our stay & would recommend as a good base to explore Essaouira. Stayed only 1 nt & wished we had at least 3 to 5 nts to spend in this place. Staff (Abdel & Youseff) were charming & helpful. The rooms are chic & modern in design. Only 5 rooms so easily booked out.
Khadija was a wonderful host and provided useful tips for getting around the city and for navigating the area. Her traditional Moroccan breakfast and mint tea really added to the comfort of my stay. This particular riad is tucked into a residential area near the Saadian tombs, and the rooftop terrace/lounge (with beach chairs and HDTV) provides nice panoramic views ove...
we loved our stay at the hotel, it was in a great location and the staff were very helpful especially the owner Phillipe. Recommend a stay
We stayed in this Riad only for one night, coming back from Essaouira. The Riad is very well located, next door to an excellent SPA that we tried on a previous trip to Marrakech. Our room (ZEN) was on the ground floor but I would recommend one of the top floor to get much more light (our was the last one available). Excellent breakfast with fresh cake and pastries, fre...
The riad was just fine. The room we stayed in was very small. It wasn't a problem considering we spent so much time outside. However, I did get sick shortly after eating breakfast at the riad. I don't know if the cause is related to something I ate during breakfast. I ordered scrambled eggs not wanting to eat the less than hard-cooked scrambled eggs that were avai...
This was the perfect Riad for my friend and I. We were on a bit of a budget but still wanted to stay in a lovely place. Riad Abaka satisfied both of those requirements. We were welcomed with traditional Moroccan mint tea and a brief tour of the accommodations and amenities. (Note: it maybe helpful to arrange for someone from the riad to meet you at the gates to the med...
Was a great location, really enjoyed our stay, nice and clean. helpful staff. Terrace was beautiful, well kept and nice. Staff did a lot to arrange excursions etc.... very quiet inside away from the hustle and bustle of souks outside. Would definitely recommend a stay here, was fantastic. Breakfast could be a little better but apart from that a great stay!
I had a great difficulty finding this riad and please do not attempt to find it in the dark especially if you are on your own. In order to get there you need to walk down many very quiet narrow passages where you won’t see any tourists and if it’s your first time in Marrakesh then go look for it only in the daytime because in the night time locals want to show you the ...
Staff were very friendly and helpful. U feel like home when u r back to the Riad. Within 15 min walking distance, u can reach....I say two thirds of the major attractions in town. First night we had the lemon chicken tajine there. It’s the best we had in our 2 weeks Maroc trip.
+ Big, clean rooms. Friendly staff. Beautiful and quiet environment. Prices are correct. There’s a free transfer to the Medina. Everything was lovely - Nothing
Nice hotel good location not far from Gare De Marrakech (Train station)
Large hotel, nice pool and outdoor areas. Has 4 restaurants which is a bonus as the main square is about a 25minute walk away. I thought the rooms were a little run down and the cleaning wasn't very good. They serviced our room every day and most days they forgot to give us towels or toilet paper or both! Breakfast was included which was good for the price. Overall i ...
I must say that Hotel Riad Altair Marrakech has the most friendly and personalized service I ever experienced in all my travel. The breakfast was great, varies every morning and they are always freshly prepared.

Our experience at the Riad Viva was exceptional from the moment we arrived until the point we had to leave. The service and overall experience was incredible. We were on our honeymoon...and a friend recommended this hotel. After 18 days of travelling, his is by far the best hotel I have ever used. The staff are warm and accommodating. Central hotel closed to both the tourist sites and main attractions / bars. This is a 5 stars which cannot compete with the international ones such as sofitel or four seasons, but the price is good.
It is a small hotel situated in the best part of Hivernage acoss from the cool Delano hotel so one can take advantage of the latter's superior facilities (roof restaurant etc. The rooms are comfortable and quite spacious, unfortunately with a very small wardrobe that would not be sufficient for two people staying over a weekend. The staff courteous and helpful. B...
we stayed at the main riad. be aware that other riads are far darker and in our view less hospitable. the room was very nice however small (not abnormal in an old riad). staff were very friendly but the service level is far below a 5 stars hotels (no room service after midnight, no coffee machine, no tv, no iron available). swimming pool is more a cold jacuzzi. the...
This was the most expensive hotel of my holiday and the only one that had no wifi in the room. It is indeed a luxury hotel with great beds, good shower and tastefully decorated room. I found the reception desk to be brusque and in some ways unhelpful. She was going to charge me for the room but I had already paid through Agoda. There is a huge outdoor pool but wi...
Right in the center of the medina, close to view points, close to the port where we could enjoy fresh sea food. You can book without worry :) Although you might find couple of hidden places in the medina, that one is 100% happy guarantee ;) Enjoy Essaouira, what a great place.
The Palm Plaza has the potential to be one of the most sought after places to stay in Marrakech if it would work on training its staff a little better. The people at the check in desk are not very efficient or enthusiastic, and the people working at the various restaurants can be arrogant and inattentive. Also, the hotel does not do a good job of describing where the...
We loved the Riad and were especially pleased with the great friendly service by the entire crew of the hotel. We ordered dinner and the staff surprised us with a special table set up by the pool. We enjoyed this evening tremendously with a great Marroccan meal.
Riad Lorsya is a great place to stay. It is beautifully decorated and gives you a real feel for what it's like to stay in a Moroccan home. The Riad Lorsya has a quiet serenity about it. The delightful craziness of the streets and alleyways is offset by the tranquility of The Lorsya. The staff are very helpful - organising day trips and porters. Our porter Aziz didn't ...
We picked this hotel for its location and price and was not dissppointed. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and organised transport to and from the airport for us prior to our departure from the UK.they also have a wealth of knowledge about sightseeing and recommend several really local/authentic restaurants for us to visit for dinner in the old town, and advised u...
The hotel is super nice and the staff is wonderful. The food is more than descent for an all inclusive. Location wise the hotel is out of the city which is relaxing but you can be in the center in 10min with the fee shuttle bus. The hotel entertainment caters more for families but even as a couple we had a great time as we won't looking to party and again the staff is ...
The hotel is inside the medina, 10-min walk to the famous square and 5-min walk to the main road where you can get taxis. The riad has a bit of dirt, but for that price you pay, it's totally fine. The staff there are extremely helpful, whe you go on excursion
Great riad for relaxing in for a chilled escape from the craziness of Marrakech. Small but comfortable and nicely decorated rooms. Great roof top terrace to chill out on. The hotel is difficult to find as you have to wind round several alleys to get there so I would recommend getting the airport pick up although the locals are very helpful in helping you to find it!...
It was our second time at this hotel - for good reason. The first stay, last year, was a dream. We wondered if we'd feel the same when we repeated our stay. To our pleasure - t was even better!!! It is a fab oasis in the middle of an active, sometimes, caotic place (Marrakech!). The rooftop is a great place to just waste time. And the staff were superb!!!!
Awful, oversized hotel, at best 2 star.
Palatial rooms with beautiful decoration. It would be a lovely getaway for a couple. The location is ideal on the edge of the old city adjacent to the beach. My one gripe was that I wanted a swimming pool and it was listed on Agoda as such. In fact, it only has a hammam.
